the whirlpool washer does not fill up in any of the rinse cycles. The wash cycle works fine

  • Anonymous Mar 31, 2014

The washer stops before doing a final spin drain cycle. It just sits there with timer counting down. If I then power off and set it to spin/drain cycle it is able to complete successfully.

If the washer won't finish a spin cycle, it probably means that your timer went bad or stalled. You can take the control panel off and look at the contacts for scorching or corrosion.

SOURCE: Washer doesn't agitate

sounds like your washer went mellow on you(doesn't get agitated, right)?

ok. enough humor.

sounds like there's a problem with the motor/belt/control board in that order

SOURCE: Will not spin on any rinse cycle

Hi, This washer does not have a belt. While the washer is agitating, if you lift the lid will it stop? Some models will agitate but not spin if the lid is up. It sounds to me like the lid switch might be going bad.
If you will get me a model #, I can look this up for you and give you a better idea.

Some have two belts and one could be off the pulley or if not a coupling on the motor shaft may be cracked or broken.

Hi,

There could be several reasons for washer not to fill .Fill washer with water and wait for the timer to get to the drain mode.Unplug the washer from the electric outlet.Open the case, and disconnect the water hose from the outlet of the water pump.If you get water pouring out from the pump, then plug that up and check the hose to the sewer. If that is clogged, then you have found the problem. Some washers have a self cleaning filter in that hose somewhere. Check that to be sure it is working properly.Reassemble hose from step 3.Plug washer back in. If it pumps out now, then you are done. If it doesn't, then the water pump is probably defective, so replace it.

Whirlpool AWM 312 front loading washing machine motor does not spin.

Hi Sachinl, Before you check out the link below read how To perform the Master Reset, carefully unplug the washing machine from the power outlet and leave it unplugged for one minute. After one minute is up, plug the washer cord back into the wall. Next, open and close the door of the washing machine 6 times within 12 seconds to send a "reset" signal to all the components.(This is a common fix that many appliance repair mechanics use - it works on about 50% of all washing machines.) Once the reset has been completed set the washer to do a small load with no clothes in the washer. See if the washer goes through with the cycle as normal. If the washer performs correctly, then it has been reset and is fixed. If not refer to more troubleshooting techniques and causes of problems below.
If that did not solve the problem then it may be the "Lid Switch". Top loading washing machines that have a faulty lid switch will not turn the agitator and the spin cycle will not start. However on some washing machine models it will still agitate but not spin. To properly check this you must remove the lid switch.

Whirlpool washer ties clothes in knots on spin cycle

Its the wash or rinse cycle that is tieing the clothes in knots not the spin cycle. Try putting less shirts in. It happens because of the agitation during the wash. Or pin the sleeves together.

I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II, top loading washer. Upon intial start up the machine agitates. During the spin cycle, the cold water remains ON, throughout the cycle. This is leaving the clothes wet...

The timer is at fault.
During the spin cycle the timer should send intermittent power to the water valve. This activates cold to help rinse soap residue from the laundry.
If cold is continuous it means the timer is not breaking correctly.

My Whirlpool washer won't agitate or spin . But it does drain the water.

i also had the same problem, and it ended up being the coupler. It was not hard to replace, it cost me about 19.00. I didn't follow full recomende instructions. I tipped the washer backwards. Removed the drain pump and the motor itself. Then I removed the old coupling and placed the new one. The washer is working like new...
