windows 7 is more stable than vista added 4gb will be adequate to run win 7 64bit

Get rid of vista go back to XP no problems there

You can download the drivers from the Acer WEB site Make sure you select the model of your laptop and the XP or Vista version of the drivers you that require and it matches the Windows version that is installed on your laptop. Use this link to get to the Acer support: -

Go to the Acer WEB site to download the drivers you need, make sure it is Windows XP or Vista version for your particular MODEL laptop.

Try downloading the appropriate driver from the Acer website. Note Acer shows your model of laptop having Nvidia Chipsets for Video and Motherboard, install the following drivers listed

Seems like you need todo a fresh installation of windows, either Xp or Vista to get rid of the issues you have now, after that you need the drivers for the laptop

even though it says vista, if the driver name has XP32 or XP64 in the end it means the driver will also work with XP

Dial Modem was the only trouble and the program "Driver Scanner" got that working.

just format your drive by bootable windows disk and re-insatll the os.
