Correct model # 110.24642300
my washer will not spin on it's own - the motor runs, the knob turns, but it does not spin. it will spin if i turn the knob to spin (i've been doing that for months). i also noticed, when this happens, that the knob is about a 1/4 of an inch before the spin cycle should start. i was told it sounded like the timer - i replaced it and it's doing the same thing. could the timer be installed wrong or can it be adjusted? please help. thank you.
I have a Kenmore 80 series mode #2289400. It will wash but will not drain and spin. I have turned the knob to a different spin cycle put it won't spin. I have drained the water out of the tub thru the drain pipe so it's not plugged. When it's ready to spin and it making no noice. Any help would be great.

the washer advances through all the cycles by itself with no problems until the spin cycle. one side note.. i wash all my loads on the 10 minute cycle, but if i do a small load and start it on the 6 minute cycle, after the water fills it doesn't start to agitate right away, either you have to wait a minute or so then it will start or "jostle" the timer back and forth and then it will start. when doing this the spin cycle worked on that particular load. hope this additional info helps...
Someone please help, I'm still having this problem. thank you!
I'm on my 3rd timer - that's not it. I kept the lid open with a screwdriver for an entire cycle. It agitates, empties, and fills, when it's supposed to spin - it starts slowly, releasing some fabric softener, and then stops and you can hear the motor ticking. If I remove and replace the screwdriver a couple times, it starts spinning. It fills again, agitates, empties and the same thing, it starts and then stops, this time the motor is much louder - again with the screwdriver. Does it sound more like a lid switch or maybe a transmission? I've been searching for solutions for similar problems on here. Thank you.
