I just viewed a bunch of complaints about chlorine bleach getting dumped on the subsequent load, but did not see a true root cause response. 1st question: When you use chlorine bleach with the whitest white cycle, it goes in on the first rinse, why doesn't it go in with the wash cycle? second question: What happens if you use chlorine bleach with the normal cycle, does it ever go in and if not is this what all these complaints are about .. the bleach getting dumped in on the next load/third question: Can you use chlorine bleach on other cycles or only the whitest white cycle?

Chlorine bleach is a highly corrosive addition to laundry that is not necessary... try Borax and Hot water. If the clothes sat in the Bleach for the entire wash cycle it would damage them and shorten the life of the clothing fibers considerably...

SOURCE: Liquid Bleach dispenser doesn't work correctly

This may not be relevant, but by design, bleach does NOT dispense in the Buly/Bedding, Kids Wear, and Silk/Ultra Delicate cycles. If you try to use it, it remains in the dispenser.

As for the yucky smell, leave the door open when not in use.

SOURCE: Whirlpool bleach dispenser not dispensing properly

It sounds like the bleach dispenser is clogged or has a crack in it. What we do, is when we bleach our clothes and I know that this is extra work, but we wait until the washing machine is full of water, then add the bleach directly to the wash.

LG top loader. Why are there black spec(k)s on my laundry after washing?

It is caused by mold being in your washing machine.Pour 1 cup or more of chlorine bleach into the drum in your washing machine and depending on the size of the washing machine and add 1/2 cup of liquid chlorine bleach into the detergent compartment of the dispenser drawer and fill the bleach dispenser compartment with chlorine bleach up to the highest level. Start the washer and let it do a full complete washing cycle.

I have deep rust appearing around the bleach port. machine is only one year old. WHY is it rusting ?????

Samsung does not recommend the use of chlorine bleach in this machine. The bleach port is intended for color-safe bleach only. Chlorine bleach is an oxidizer that will accelerate the corrosion process of the drum, which is what you are probably seeing. The users guide for your machine states specifically that you SHOULD NOT put liquid chlorine bleach into the bleach port.

Seems to be noiser than usual, I think it is because rather alot of tissue was flushed dowm after one of my sons friends was sick - what can I do to clear it? I did try flushing it through with bleech but...

Could be a blockage on the blade or the impeller. Dumping bleach or chlorine in the pump is not recommended as it has rubber components inside of the pump casing. bleach or chlorine will damage those rubber components.

I do most of my shopping online and liquid bleach sometimes doesn't ship without breaking. Is it OK to use dry or powder bleach? I have the whirlpool cabrio top load large capacity model.

It should be okay to use dry bleach, if you follow the instructions on the bleach. Some bleaches require dissolving in water first, others can be used dry.

I have a Kenmore Model 795 refrigerator with an ice maker in the bottom drawer. We purchased the refrigerator in August of 2008 (currently November of 2010) and finally hooked up the ice maker last week. ...

The 795 model you make reference to only tells me that this is and LG bottom mount Refrigerator. There are several numbers missing from the model number. This is and example of a good part number: 79577253602 The filter for bottom mount LG units is usually in the upper RH side of the fresh food compartment. See this link: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/partsdirect/showSubComp.pd?imageUrl=http%3a%2f%2fc.searspartsdirect.com%2flis_png%2fPLDM%2fK0810366-00001.png (item 611E)

The weak chlorine taste should fade unless the source is from your house water supply. Let the ice catch bin fill completely once and then dump everything in it. After that your ice should be normal. I think you may be noticing the taste you get from unused plastic tubing / water carrying parts. Just so you know if anyone used bleach to clean the freezer compartment the ice maker will catch any bleach water drips and pass that immediately into the ice. (Have very long customer warranty story with repeated in home visits about how I learned about people using bleach to clean freezer compartments!)
I digressed... just dump the ice collection bin after it is full one time and then check the ice taste on any ice after that. If you think maybe the taste is originating from the freezer compartment get a box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, cut off the top of the box and leave it in your refrigerator freezer for 6 weeks then toss it in the trash.

Another note no manufacturer will tell you is if you install a cheap in line water filter before the refrigerator water connection you can make the EXPENSIVE ONE on inside of the fresh food compartment last a very very long time.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Can I use non-chlorine bleach in our new Bravos washer?

Use only chlorine bleach, using any other kind of bleach that isn't recommended can cause damage to the washer and void any warranties.

Chlorine added to a dehumidifier

NOT the best suggestion Ive herd.
1st Chlorine is very corrosive to copper and aluminum.
2 In strong concentrations like your describing it is unhealthy. Usually 1 or 2 teaspoons per quart is plenty to sanitize the air and wont cause you health problems. And If you use more than this it needs to be followed by a manual rinse and wash out.

Can I use color safe bleach in my new cabrio, and if so where do I put it?

According to the manual on pages 12 & 13.

1.
Place a load of sorted clothes into the washer. See “Laundry
Tips.”
■ Load evenly to maintain washer balance. Mix large and
small items. Items should move easily through the wash
water.
■ Load only to the top of the basket as shown. Overloading
can cause poor cleaning. Items need to move easily
through the wash water.
2. Pour measured powdered or liquid High Efficiency detergent
into the detergent dispenser. Always use the detergent
dispenser, and do not put detergent directly onto clothes in
the washer.
3. Add color-safe bleach (powdered or liquid) to this dispenser,
if needed. Be sure to match powdered color-safe bleach with
powdered detergent or match liquid color-safe bleach with
liquid detergent.
4. Pour measured liquid chlorine bleach into the liquid chlorine
bleach dispenser, if needed. Bleach is diluted and
automatically dispensed at the proper time during the wash
cycle.
■ Do not overfill. Do not dilute. Do not use more than 1 cup
(250 mL) for a full load. Use less with a smaller load size.
■ Follow the garment and the chlorine bleach
manufacturer’s directions for proper use.
■ To avoid spilling, use a cup with a pouring spout. Do not
let bleach splash, drip, or run down into the washer basket.
■ At the end of the cycle, a small amount of water may be
left in the dispenser. This is normal.
NOTE: Use only liquid chlorine bleach in this dispenser.

5. Pour measured liquid fabric softener into the fabric softener
dispenser, if desired.
■ Do not overfill. The dispenser holds 3 oz (94 mL), or a
capful of fabric softener.
■ The fabric softener is dispensed in the final rinse. If Extra
Rinse is selected, the fabric softener will be dispensed
during the Extra Rinse.
■ Do not spill or drip any fabric softener onto the clothes.
■ At the end of the cycle, a small amount of water may be
left in the dispenser. This is normal.
NOTE: Use only liquid fabric softener in this dispenser.
6. Close the washer lid.
7. Press POWER. This turns on the washer display.
8. Select a Wash Cycle. See “Cycles.”
9. Select the desired Modifiers. See “Modifiers.”
10. Select an Option, if desired. See “Options.”
11. Select Delay Wash, if desired. See “Delay Wash” in the
“Modifiers” section.
12. Press START. The wash cycle begins, and the display shows
the estimated remaining time. The lid will lock.
NOTE: If you do not press Start within 5 minutes of pressing
Power, the washer automatically shuts off.

The way that I read the manual, your color safe bleach would go in the detergent dispenser. Your liquid chlorine bleach would go in the bleach dispenser.
