its leaking air.. maybe ahead of the gas line running unto the bubble.. is it leaking any gas at all?

Sounds like your gas cap seal is leaking.

Most likely has a leak in the system, I suggest replacing the bulb as well as the lines, replacements are usually fairly cheep.

Adjust desired spray pattern. Spray to coat the suspected leak. Look for bubbles or foam. Microscopic leaks are indicated by foam, larger leaks produce larger bubbles.

Have you done the chemical test to check for exhaust gases in the coolant? I believe you can rent the tester from autozone, or another outlet. All you have to buy is the chemical fluid. Exhaust gas will change the color of the fluid.
It is also possible the impellers on the water pump may be worn, and not pushing enough coolant.
You should also check the fan or fans are working properly.

1. set on/off switch to on, 2.prime it first, push the bubble about 6x 3. pull the choke all the way out, 4.pull trigger and string simultaneously 5. push in choke halfway try again, pull choke back out and etc. should start after repeating steps 4 and 5 3x or 4x when it does start, pump the gas at half choke then let it idle untill it stops push in choke all the way and it should start. don't forget to check the safety bar in front of the handle usually works with most gas operated tools

take sm. bowl and mix dish soap and water real bubbly,turn on gas,take sm. paint brush and paint soapy solution on all heater joints that contain gas and watch for bubbling bubbles,and thats where your leak is,but don't stop with the 1st leak you find,there may be more..check all joints, start with house plumbing then factory heater piping,,once all found ,mark them as you find them...then shut off gas and reseal and or retighten leaky joints....

Check fuel line that goes from exhaust pipe to fuel tank. Make sure there are no leaks. With fuel in the tank remove the line from the exhaust pipe and blow in it. The fuel in the tank should move and bubble.

If everything is hooked up and you still smell gas you still have a leak. The gas valve could be letting out gas if the burner is not igniting, however it sounds like you have a small leak on your line which will not be detected by just soapy water. You need to go to a hardware store or a place like home depot and get what's called MegaBubble Leak Detector or a similar brand of leak detector. What this stuff is designed to do is bubble up with massive bubbles where your leak is and it will detect even the smallest leak. If there is no large bubbles there is no leak. Don't be afraid to over do it when putting this stuff on the pipe.

If the compressor is a diaphram type, the diaphram is likely bad. Replace the diaphram.
