If you are referring to the login password, you can try this.
On the loging press ctrl+alt+del twice until it ask you for a login (a different screen for the login)
On the username put administrator and no password
then press enter.
You should be able to open you computer using the administrator login and then change your password.
This only works on win2000 and up OS.
It debends if its a bios startup password or windows login password both can be removed. which one is it?
Is the password in Windows or the BIOS? If its the BIOS then you may need to get a new computer motherbaord. If it is in Windows you will most likely have to reformat the hard drive. The problem with this is you will lose all you stuff on this hard drive as formatting it wipes it all out. After formatting then you will need to install the operating system (recovery disks) and necessary drivers (drivers disks) again. Did I read the title correctly? Is this a Packard Bell PC, if so I havent even seen one of these in like 12 years. If this is a 12 or so year old machine your much better off getting a new one. The time your going to spend to get it back to when it was working will not be worth the aggravation. Hope this info helps you out, good luck.
If the password is in the Bios, meaning when you power on there is a password you can unplug the machine, and open the case. there is a battery on the board, remove it and let it sit for an hour and should start as normal.
If a windows password, Search yahoo for "Windows password reset"
