Hello,
I have a D drive om my Pavillion DV8000 notebook. The d drive is all but empty. I have started storing some of my pics there instead of the c drive. My question is...Is it okay to download or install program files to that drive?. Also, my son needs to reinstall his World of war craft game...Can this be loaded onto the d drive...It's a very large game cd/download.
Thanks for the help.
This "D" drive is used for storing your HP Recovery Manager Software. It is not reccommended to use it for any other uses. If you do choose to use it however, make youself a set of recovery discs. These will come in handy if the drive gets corrupted or you need to reformat the notebook. You should need about 3-4 DVD discs to accomplish this. Also if you have a Litescribe DVD you could get the Litescribe ones and burn them to look more professional.
Yes, the files will run ok on the "D" drive. I would suggest making a folder within the "D" drive and labeling it with "D Folder" or something to that effect. Now when you install a game or program you will put in this folder. This way it will visually keep everything you install into this drive all together an thus creating a "faux" partition.

Thank you for the fast response. I have already made the recovery discs.
my D Drive is a 96gb drive with 93gb free!..Seems like such a waste of space!...It has way more available space than my c drive...Just to double check...will program files run okay in the D drive?
Thanks for your time.
