If its sitting dead... and you have no wash/fill/or spin.. I would tend to think timer. If the tub I full of water, reset the timer to wash... if it washes and then die's at the rinse... look at the lid switch.
This is the best designed life long lasting Whirlpool washing machine. This core design is more than 35 years old and it is so good Made in USA design. Cannot go wrong.... Coming from 1969 Moon landing time where Made in USA matters....
Most of the time in this design, the drain pump leaks. Is the leak is coming from front middle. It might be the drain pump. Careful observation is needed. Check the drain pump seam for possible water marks or brown color water marks. Make sure before changing.
Make sure it is the drain pump. Can be something else too.
Part description for water pump for your model with a video clip how to change it.
Open the control panel and check the fuse inside at the lid switch. Also check continuity on the lid switch and the micro switch. They are all located in the same lid switch block. Check the position of the plunger that activates the lid switch. It can become dislodged with a off-balance load.
the humming is the motor trying to turn, which means it works. since you did not mention any error messages, it could just be a belt that slipped off the pulley. have you taken it apart yet?
