I'm not sure, but apparently controls to 3 year old washer shorted out? I'm handy, so is this something I can fix myself?

Sounds like the motor or something overloads the circuit.
You could always call a repairman...but with the prices on these at Lowes or Home Depot, it might just as well to replace it.

I always take the price of an appliance and divide it by the years of service to see how much it costed me to use each year. I know, sounds crazy...but if ya spend $300 on a washer and only get 3 years out of it...then it costed you $100 a year...6 years you're down to $50 a year.

(These days, if you get 5 years out of an appliance...you're on borrowed time. They just don't make appliances like the "Admiral" that grandma had.)

Bosch front load washer...WFMC3200UC...6+ years old...light to medium duty...no problems UNTIL we now have an apparent slow leak into the drum when the washer is completely "at rest". I assume...

I would take the water pump ad trip it to clear the rotating shaft of possible cotton threds or other debris stuck in-between the rubber water seals as this can cause a slow dripping of the water as it creeps between the still shaft of the water pump eric

My washer wont spin and the add garment light stays on. Then it starts to beep with F51 or FSl (not sure if it is a 5 or an S) shows up. Doesn't do anything more but beep.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL once to clear code. Press START. If code appears again, read below

Basically, the F51 error is a rotor position sensor error.

What has to be fixed?
Two parts really need to be replaced. 1) the rotor sensor itself ($43) and 2) the control board ($197). Apparently, Whirlpool has yet to officially recall these parts, but there is a new board that has a reduced or no sensitivity to the rotor sensor and thus the problem should be corrected.

Can I fix it myself?
That depends on your level of handy-skills. If you're one who can work on late model foreign cars with ease, then this probably won't be a challenge. But for most amateur handy-"people" this will require a professional.

I have a Frigidaire Gallaxy Series top loading washing machine, 4 years old that seems to be leaking from the bottom. Is this something I can fix myself? THANK YOU.

Before you buy a new $100 door gasket, pull out the soap dispenser tray and look inside the washer where it normally sits. If there is significant soap accumulation (even 3/8 inch), the water can become backed up and trickle down the washer front to the door bottom, making it look like a door leak. Fixed mine this way.

Kenmore elite oasis washer 3rd repair

The F1 error code on this washer indicates a Primary Control Board failure.

It is likely that the machine control board will need to be replaced to correct this problem.

The part number for the machine control board is undetermineable because you have not provided me with the exact model # of your washer.

The procedure for replacing the machine control board is provided HERE

LINK: http://media.fotki.com/1_p,wfgstgtftbtkrrdxgtqsskgwtqkq,vi/gfsfgfsgqxgfqtqtgwf/1/1303472/5961857/image55806img-or.gif

NOTE: Be sure to unplug the washer to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components.

There is a slight possibility that a problem with the pressure switch hose could be causing this problem.

A pinched or twisted air hose can cause this fault code.

When you open the console, check the air hose connected to the pressure switch on the machine control board.

If it is pinched or crimped, I recommend rerouting the hose to resolve this problem.

This may fix your problem without replacing the control board.

NOTE: You may want to check for this condition before ordering the control board. Most electronic control boards cannot be returned for a refund or credit.

If you find no apparent problems with the air hose on the pressure switch, then replacing the machine control board on this washer should correct your problem. There is a risk involved in replacing this part yourself.

As noted above, you could have a problem with the air pressure hose that is not apparent upon your initial inspection. A service technician would normally need to properly and thoroughly diagnose this problem before replacing the control board.

Can this be fixed

It is faily easy to fix. all you need is the part..b9ee9bf.jpg
You flip up the controls and remove the cabinet. The pump and motr come off easily. These web pages really give a good explanation:

F3 Error Code

I know what you mean. I was cooking with this appliance tonight and suddenly it displayed an f-3 code. My advantium oven is less than 8 months old. Not sure how this happened or how to fix the problem. In order to sleep tonight (the constant beeping) I had to shut power off at the breaker pannel. Is this representative of the the type of quality that GE stands for???? I am sooo frustrated. I cook with my advantium oven all the time and love the dual abilities of this appliance. Like I said this is brand new and to have the f-3 code which apparently (from what I read) is a failed key pad. I am very dissapointed and am begining to think about pulling my stock from this company!
