This means that Facebook is doing a maintenance on their servers and your account is one of the few the were included on the list of maintenance (usually these are upgrades - Facebook does incremental upgdates and affects a portion of the accounts - i.e. the first 500,000 of the accounts will undergo upgrades first and after it finishes, it will move on to the next 500,000). Be patient and try to login again after an hour or so.
Cheers.

Hi,
I wrote an article which goes over this error message. Click the link below,
Facebook - sorry we are experiencing tech difficulties.
Even though the error message is not identical to yours, it falls in the same situation. Sometimes, facebook accounts are taking offline due to maintenance by the technical staff or due to technical issues. They may be currently working on the issue to resolve it as we speak. If this is the case then you can only wait until they fix the issue.
In the meantime you can do two things. Contact facebook support by going to the "help" link at the bottom of the facebook page and advising them of your problem. The second thing you can do is try to use a different web browser. For example, if you are using Firefox try using Internet Explorer. You may have an issue with your web browser. I would also advise you to clear your internet cookies and temp files. You can do so by,
In firefox go to the FireFox button at the top left, then click history > clear recent history. Close your browser and then try facebook again.
You can do similar in Internet Explorer. Go to Tools > internet options > delete browsing data on the first tab.
