My laptop is not loading with a completely blank screen. No error messages are popping up or anything...just black. We tried to follow Dell's instructions by holding the function keep and power button. It made a series of beeps, but the screen remained black.
Any suggestions? THANKS!! :)My laptop is not loading with a completely blank screen. No error messages are popping up or anything...just black. We tried to follow Dell's instructions by holding the function keep and power button. It made a series of beeps, but the screen remained black.

I have the same problem Inspiron 1300 Windows XP proffessional. When i was switching it on i could get as far as signing in then it would freeze up and i would have to hold the power button to restart. The only way i can look at it now is if i choose Safe mode. Otherwise i turn on and black screen ....... someone mentioned it may be the either the graphics card or one of the windows service installer packages that has upsed the drivers?????I have the same problem Inspiron 1300 Windows XP proffessional. I'm having the same problem as you are. My screen went blank for no apparent reason. I've been searching for a quick fix solution but I keep comming across asinine answers that has nothing to do with the original problem such as this one. If you find a solution before I do, can you please post it? Thanks in advance!
If its a blank screen all the time that never shows anything not even a screen at startup then it sounds like the internal cable from your monitor to the motherboard of the laptop is unplugged or possibly broken. You need to remove the keyboard from the laptop to check this.
I recommend bringing the laptop to a professional if you have no experience with opening laptops.
Did you accidentally hit the lower left "Display" button on the back of your camera? It manually turns the screen on or off to save batteries. Turn the camera on and press it once to check.
