Definitely a clogged drain line. you will need to remove the back wall and pour hot water into the bottom middle in the back of the freezer compartment, one glass at a time, until it drains through to the drip pan at the bottom of fridge. It is a messy job but the results will save a good fridge.

Good Luck

Lower freezer frosts up

Most of the time the problem is leaking air.
The warm outside air is leaking into the freezer.
This could be from a door that does not close tightly, a gasket that is bad, or perhaps someone is leaving the door open.
One way to check this is with a piece of paper.
The paper should be tight all the way around the door when the door is closed.
A loose paper will tell you where the air is leaking in.
God bless your efforts.

What would make our maytag side by side drip water up top near the freezer side. I just noticed today that the door on frig side doesn't seem to be closing tight. Anything we can do?

not sure what is blocking your door from closing tight. there are adjustment screws on the top of the door hinges under the plastic caps that align the doors.(they are there on my maytag side by side). the water could be from some ice buildup in side the housing at the top of the inside of your fridge where the flap opens up to send cold air from the freezer to the fridge, especially if your door has not been closing properly that will ice up trying to keep the fridge cold. remove everything from your fridge, unplug it and take a blow dryer to that housing to remove any ice buildup on the flap then plug it back in. there are also diagnostic checks you can do using the temperature control buttons to test if the flap is working properly as well. they are in your owners manual.

When i close the door on the freezer side the water trickles down the front panel

This could be a leaking water valve. First thing I would suggest is to turn the water supply off under the sink or behind fridge wherever its located and see if the leaking stops. If so then you'll need to replace the water valve on fridge. If this doesn't work look up inside the ice chute on front of door and make sure the flapper is closing all the way when you get ice. Warm air coming up into freezer because the flapper is not sealing tight can cause water to run down front of fridge. If this is the case there is usually frost buildup on the ice chute on the inside of door.

I have kitchen aid superba the icemaker works fine, except at the door where ice is dispensed the unit freezes up the ice crusher area like there is an air leak in the door somewhere which allows warm air...

I have had this issue with my french door kitchen aid freezer drawer. I have a toddler who sometimes gets into the drawer. If it is left open just a hair, it will melt everything completely and water leaks out all over the floor.

The drain gets clogged when the door gets pushed back in for a tight seal and freezes again.

Try to focus on keeping a really tight seal every time you open and then close the freezer...its almost like you have to TRY to close it hard to ensure it is closed. Total pain, but it works. When the door is closed tight, it stays like it is supposed to .

Leaking water inside of refrigerator. Ice maker is off and disconnected from water supply. Seals around doors look fine and seem to close tight, no signs of cracking. No cracks in interior of...

Hello Rick,

That water is from the melting frost of the automatic defrost cycle. Their is drain in the freezer behind the back wall under the evaperator coil that is blocked, so instead of defrost water draining it's pooling in the freezer or in some case espically on models with the freezer on the top,the water is leaking from the freezer vents into the fresh food compartment.
The way to clear the drain is remove back plate and remove all ice build up and GENTLY make a small hole in drain through then totally flush w/warm water.
The exact location of drain is under the coil behind back freezer plate in the center

Good luck

I hope this helps

Water Leak

1) make sure the drain on the floor in the back inside is clear of food and not fill with frozen water. If it is, pour hot water through it to clear.
2) that drain hose drains water down to a pan under the unit that should be evaporating from the heat of the compressor, but lately with all the humidity we've had, it may be playing catch up with itself.
3 Keep doors closed as much as possible
4) check and make sure door seals are tight.

Water driping from freezer to refrigerator

If this is a side by side refrigerator, water dripping from the cold air return indicates a warm air leak, or some source of constant heat presence. Check to make sure doors close completely, that you have a tight seal along the entire edge of all four sides of both doors, that a light is not staying on when door is closed, that your ice maker is not stuck in the harvest cycle which turns a heater on underneath the ice maker, some other cause not determined without personal inspection.

After you open and close the refrigerator on top, the freezer drawer pops open. it is now leaking water.

check to see if the fridge is tilted back a little so the top door closes with just a little shove, also if there isn't any weight on the freezer door it will pop open, put something on the door,a bottle of water that will freeze or whatever you want,it could be leaking from stuff melting from the door being open, is the water dripping from the door?the door does freeze up and will melt out if door is left open, hopefully your air ducts didin't freeze up,make sure you can feel cold air blowing into the fridge section,if not heat up the back wall where the evap fan motor is with a hair dryer the air ducts are near there and check the freezer ceiling for frozen water droplets, hopefully everything will freeze back up with the door closed.
