Canon PIXMA MP240 All-In-One InkJet Printer Logo

Canon pixma mp240 printing hazy pictures. The photo is clear on my monitor, but is not printing with clear color contrast and skintones all look red/orange. Most noticeable is that when I printed my pics they turned out very hazy. THe black colors looked more grey and not really black. The whole pic looked very light. On my monitor and camera the images looked well exposed. I found I had to over increase contrast and then print the picture to get a good result. What do I do?

SOURCE: printing wrong colors

you might be running out of the red ink.

Whenever a printer prints the whole image but with different colors it means that the printer uses the available color with enough amount.

Try replacing it with new ink cartridge.

SOURCE: Canon pixma mp240 ink reset

Thats funny, cause I took the cartridges out and left the lid up, unplugged it, plugged it back in with my finger on the power button and tapped the stop/reset button twice. Put the cartridges in, pressed the color start, after some moaning a test page printed. I unplugged it again, plugged it back in and I had full ink Levels!!!

SOURCE: canon pixma iP8500 printer will not print any black ink

Check the black cartridge and make sure the orange or yellow tape at the rear end is not still attached. If it covers the small hole on the top of the cartridge, the printer won't print black text.

Have you heard of Wysywig? What you see is what you get?

Well on color pictures on you monitor you get wysinwyg what you see is not what you get. Monitors are backlit, so colors are much more vibrant than what a printer can generally deliver. Explore the printing properties of your priinter as there are adjustments that can be made to enable better quality and true to color prints. The paper you use to print out your pics is also important in producing color that is close to original.

When you view your pics on screen try adjusting the color hue to the point it becomes overcolored and try a few experimental prints to see what level of the slide is needed to be used to achieve a brighter more vibrant picture. I would also like to say that the Canon 210 , whilst it is a very good printer, is at the cheaper end of the photo printer scale.

Talk to your ink and paper supplier, they can often show you or recommmend printers that are much higher and more accurate in delivering brighter and true to color photos.

Poor color quality (Canon Pixma pro 9500)

recalibrate the printhead, clean the printhead. In the printer driver you need to select the right paper.

My mp240 won't print because it doesn't have a color cartridge. I NEVER print in color! I DO NOT want to print in color EVER! Do I absolutely need to have a color ink cartridge install for it work?

Why would you buy a COLOR printer but only want to print in black & white?? Since its designed to be a color printer, it will only work with both cartridges installed.

HOW CAN I PPRINT PHOTOS THAT ARE TRURER TO THE DIGITAL PICTURE ON THE MONITER? IS THERE ADJUSTMENTS THAT I CAN MAKE?

If you're using a good photo software there are many adjustments. I use Canon printing software, and Photo Gallery that you can get with Windows Vista. Most all have a place to adjust contrast brightness, color, hue, and even cropping and enlarging. In control panel, printer properties, printing preferences you can adjust all of these in there.

A faint line shows up down the middle of the page, when printing a photo

from cnet review of the product

  • Unfortunately, as with the Z1420, fast print speeds come at the cost of print quality with the Z1300. Black text prints, though nicely dark, were beset by obvious jaggedness. The color graphics print had a slightly faded look to it and color blocks showed graininess and faint horizontal striations. Barcode-style patterns were muddled, too. For our tests, we printed color 4x6 photos with the standard black and tricolor cartridges, as Lexmark did not include photo ink tanks with the test unit. The colors were dull, details were hazy, and again, the entire print was marred by graininess and faint horizontal lines. That said, nobody buys a $25 printer to print photos for framing or to create displays for a classroom science project. A $25 printer is a convenience item for occasional reference prints, and as such, the Z1300 does its job.

Color photos printing very faded

Some nozzles could be burned out on the printhead, and you need to make sure you have no photo inks installed where regular inks should be. Photo magenta prints much lighter than regular magenta.

Canon ip3000 Color problem

This is a frequent complaint and only high-end equipment provides the necessary tools to correct the differences between display and printed output.

If the output is otherwise pristine, you can't do much about it, although if there are clear defects (streaks, etc), you might try running the provided cleaning routine on the printhead.

If you play with the brightness and contrast controls of your monitor, you will see that these can influence the color and saturation of what you see and the printer is not capable of seeing the same thing as you.
