SOURCE: dock connector port

Hello,

Try going to repair your iPod at apple.
I don't think they will accept it because it is a old version.
You can try.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: iphones keypad

Hi,

The issue you are facing is known as a lower dead strip. You may eventually have to replace the digitizer but if you wnat to save some money then follow the steps below

Downgrade to Firmware 1.1.4 (watch some videos on youtube)

Jailbreak using idemocracy 3.0 (google it)

Connect your phone and open fie browser for iphone.

Move to /Application/Preferences.app/
Replace the touch.plist and general.plist with the files found here:
http://limitededitioniphone.com/iphone-touchscreen-fix-increase-sensitivity/

Restart your phone. Got to settings >>> general >>> Touch and decrease the sensitivity t0 -15.0

Restart your phone.
Should work fine now..

Let me know.

SOURCE: Iphone doesnt detect in Itunes and Usb wall charger doesnt work.

It sounds like the unlocking screwed up part of the software, if you are using the newest version, there is a problem when unlocking the phone. If you down grade to the prior software version, it may fix the problem, it's difficult to know what people have done to the phones due to the many different methods of unlocking jailbreaking etc, if it were mine I would try to do re install of the prior firmware, if that doesen't work, you may be able to just get a new sim card from your provider. That is more than likely what got messed up

SOURCE: ihome won't play ipod, even

Welcome to the wonderful world of the iHome frying the Ipod.
Your iHome, has most likely fried the mainboard on your ipod.
to check plug a usb into the ipod and connect to the computer.
if it comes up disconnect the usb and try a headphones in the jack.
if it doesn;t play sound its fried and you will need a new mainboard.
if it does play through the headphone jack, your lucky and keep it off the dock.

I have fixed at least 30 ipods taken out by ihome docks and other docks.
they are terrible for the ipod. Even Apple sells the docks on their website
that shows how much they care about the product.

If this helps leave a vote on fixya

SOURCE: ipod nano buttons refuse to work when not connected to a stereo

please try resetting your ipod (hold the center and play buttons for a while), or restoring it on iTunes.

maybe the iPod is 'messed up' and 'thinks' it's buttons are the docking station ones, not itself's

It is normal to get incompatible devie message when you attach your iphone to dock because you don't use apple dock. I have 5 different brand portable speakers, charging docks. And all of them give same message when i attach my iphone 4 to dock. When you press "ok" on your iphone screen, it should start to play your songs. You don't need to use your iphone at airplane mode.

You may have problem with your iphone dock conncector cable pins. If audio related pins are damaged, you can not use any external iphone speakers with your iphone4. In order to test your sonic integrity tube pod; try another ipod or iphone on its dock. If it gives same result, you may need to change dock connector unit on sonic integrity tube pod due to damaged pins. If it works; iphone 4 dock connetor cable of your iphone 4 needs to be replaced.

I think some docking stations do not work with Iphone3 + as the hardware has been changed by Apple. Thye warned all manufacturers about this but many ignored it! There is not solution other than to buy a station that specifically says that it will play Iphone3 +.

Our sound dock does not charge our ipod touch 2nd gen. Bose manual says it does charge. The sound dock is not series 2. Are they not compatible? Thanks, Mark

The original SoundDock will not charge the iPod touch 2nd gen, or the iPhone 3G, or the new nano either. This is because Apple changed the way their new iPod products charge. (via USB only now)
There is 1 solution- Call Bose tech support. They can replace the 30 pin metal connector for a new one that will charge this. If this is not under warranty, it will cost $99, but it's worth it. New 1 year warranty, and compatibility with all iPods (except much older- non-clickwheel iPods)

Does the new bose dock station charge the new ipod touch (32g)?

The new SoundDock II charges your new iPod touch and is fully compatible all iPods and the iPhone 3G. Also the SoundDock Portable will do this. But..
Better news-> Call Bose. They can upgrade the 30-pin connector to charge via USB-only and function with the remote as well. $99. This will make your iPod touch 100% compatible and somewhat future-proof your SoundDock. If the SoundDock was purchased within 90 days (at full retail price), they will do the upgrade for a smaller fee or even free I think.. (new 1 year warranty given with repair/mod) btw- This is an Apple issue, not a Bose issue. All 3rd party iPod connection devices had to make this change at some point.

Getting error message software not compatible with IPod

This compatibility issue is caused by the same change with the Apple Dock Connecter introduced with the iPhone 3G. Inside the iPod / iPhone Dock Connecter are 30 metal pins. Previous iPods and iPhones allowed for charging either over pins reserved for the USB connection or pins reserved for the obsolete Firewire connection.
While Apple apparently announced this upcoming change to manufactures of “Made for iPod” accessories back in 2005, Apple only formerly discontinued Firewire charging support with the most recent iPods. New iPods and iPhones can only charge via the USB pin.
As such, there is no way that a software update can fix this issue in the future; this is truly a modification in iPod hardware.
