When switching on dishwasher water does not run into washer
Frigidaire dishwashers can lose their pump prime and will not fill with water if there is no priming water in the bottom of the unit. To solve this, add several quarts of water to the unit. Let it settle down in the bottom until it stops going down. Start the washer and you will hear this water pump out of the drain and the unit will now fill with fresh water.
when I took off the kick plate, the drain tube only had a bit of water in it. I did as Jagg suggested and filled the unit with water until it didn't disappear anymore. When I looked under the unit again, the drain tube was all filled. I tried starting it right away, but it didn't put any water in, I tried again a few minutes later and blamo! dishes being cleaned as we speak.
I added about a half a gallon of water into the bottom of the dishwasher and turned it on. The dishwasher primed and started to work fine...Thank you!!!
You fixed it for me. Thank you!

There is a Floater inside the tub protecting against overflow. when it is pushed up (by too much water) or stuck by debris, and does not fall down to its inactive position, it can prevent water from filling. make sure there is no debris, and move the floater up and down until it falls down in its normal position. PS : there is a floor cover underneath the door, it has a repair manual glued to it on the back. you can use "diagnostics" mode by pushing a specific sequence on the front panel, allowing you to go through each cycle in an accellerated way.
This is for a kenwood elite ultrawash : there is a floater inside the tub (shape of a mushroom on right front of the bootom of the tub) that controls the incoming water and protects against overflow. if it is activated, it will prevent water from coming in. check that the floater is not in the upmost position or if it does not drop down when you lift it. the floater must be pushed down. make sure there is no debris blocking it from falling down. Ps : when i unscrewed the floor cover under the door, i found a manufacturer's repair manual glued to the back of it. there is also some kind of "diagnostics mode" that you can trigger from the front panel.
I have a GE and I filled the tub until it would not drain anymore...still didn't work. Then I took off the bottom front cover and there was a white trianlgle looking piece. I pushed it down- it is connected to a metal piece that looks like a battery and AHHHHHHH it worked!! (And no I am not techinical by anymeans- hence the non technical descriptions)
First try to see if there's a leak somewhere. Cheack to see if there's water in the pan. There's a sensor that shuts off the water supply when there's a leak. There might be a screw loose somewhere that you have to tighten. If there's no leak, the water shutoff valve might be damaged, in which case you will probably have to replace it.
Check that water entrance valve works (it is an electromagnet valve, loocated at the pipe's enterance to the machine). If it doesn't work, test that it get power. In case it get power and dosen't work - You can easyly open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt). Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from machine before doing it !!!!! Check as well for valve's coil resistance. In case you have no resistance measurement - you should replace for a new
My dishwasher Will not add water to it. So it doesn't run it does click like it's supposed to run and it will go to the final stage and heat the dishes up but that's with no water
This may sound stupid but... make sure you have taken out the little stopper in the waste pipe under the sink! I had a new kitchen fitted, and forgot about this, and could not understand why my dishwasher would not fill up or drain. Take the stopper out and Bob's your uncle!
I replaceed the inlet valve ($35)and it fixed it.
I have the same problem but the value seems to be fine, I tried checking the water level sensor but I dont know how it should work I does not seem to be a straigh forward on switch.
I am almost certain that your problem is the fill solenoid.
If it does not work, there will be no water entering your machine.
I would either remove it and test it or just replace it at this point.

Hello &
Welcome to FixYa
The problem is with the float switch assembly
that is bad and needs replacement. A float switch
on a dishwasher is designed for one thing, to stop the water flow from the
dishwashers water valve. To access the dishwasher float switch regardless
of the make or model, 99% of dishwashers are accessed from behind the toe kick
panel i.e by removing the front bottom access panel. When the timer or main control call for
water, power is sent through the float switch wires, when the dishwasher has
filled up raising the plastic mushroom looking piece high enough, the switch
will stop power from getting to the water valve. That is the idea behind the
switch, to further test this switch with a volt meter you can view this video:

maytag dishwasher will not fill with water.
Tested valve solenoid with ohm meter...it's o.k. but cannot determine if power is getting to it...what voltage does it run on?
If the timer is not sending power to it, how do I test the timer? Every other function on the timer seems o.k.
GE GSD6960NSS Stainless Steel Dishwasher: No water...water inlet valve has been replaced.....water float switch has been replaced.......cpu has been replaced...still no water. Washer starts up...then trips circuit breaker.
my dishwasher goes through all the programs but does not fill with water at the start
water does not go in washer, replaced water valve, still does not work
Hotpoint dishwasher does not fill with water most of the time. Replaced water valve. Washer fills one time but not the next. A small amount of water enters at first, then stops.
Hi My dishwasher has an error 1
when i turn on my dishwasher it sounds like it is running but no water is cycling and if left on is smells burnt anyone know what the problem could be?
Disconnected the water line and checked. The dishwasher still does not allow the water to fill the dishwasher
My Bosh dishwasher does not fill with water. It worked one day perfect the next day I run the full cycle then I noticed the dishes never got wet. It sounds perfect otherwise.
Tired these ideas. Mine doesn't fill for rinse cycle until I let it cool down. Then its fine!!
On my bosch I found a overflow drainon the left hand side of the tum and pumped air into it and noe it seems to work fine. probably a lever arm on a float was stuck telling it there was still water in the tub.
