I had to go to this page:
http://www.generac.com/Service/ManualSearch/
and enter your model number as 0056060 to get the parts diagram
Control panel is the last manual on the page (1.03 Mb)
Parts list
25 042632 1 GROMMET 1/2 X 1/16 X 3/8
^-Note: There is no fuse listed
The only fuse I am aware of is an in-line 1.5A slow blow^ fuse for the Battery charging circuit
The starter is item 8 of the engine manual page 4
The starter solenoid is itme 91 of the manual OG9666

What problem are you having and I can probably help you?
Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Your tasking my memory banks now. The gas tank is fussy to remove. I recall having to unmount the fuel shut off / sediment bulb and disconnection the hose to get the tank off. Isn't the battery tray also bolted to the bottom of this tank? If so your going to have to remove the battery.. or disconnect the battery and pull the tank and battery.
This fuse is on the smaller red wire from the battery. One of them goes to the solenoid and the other goes to the fuse that ends up connecting to pin one of the AC charger.

I searched the tech manual and all of the manuals for this unit.... and the FUSE you need is not even listed anywhere but on the wiring diagram. The fuse holder is also MIA from all documentation.
I will download the 16.5 mb manual and see if I can find anything there. Will repost later.

Hi again.... I just checked the owners manual and it says this fuse is in the control panel. (<-Your original posted question) The fuse just is not listed anywhere on any of the diagrams. No Battery Charger DC output. 1. Battery posts are corroded. 1. Clean battery posts. 2. Battery cable is bad. 2. Replace cable. 3. Battery is defective. 3. Check battery condition; replace if defective. 4. Receptacle is bad. 4. Contact Authorized Service Facility. 5. Battery Charger in-line fuse (1.5A) melted open. 5. Replace fuse with identical 1.5A replacement fuse
From the manual:
only (located inside control panel).
Back to fuel tank removal... look at item 55 of the parts list below the fuel tank. It appears that has to be removed to get the tank off. The conrol panel appears to open from the back. That is quite odd because most of the units I ever worked on the control panel you could remove the front panel and tip it down. This appears to be an exception to the rule.....

This fuse has to be within a few inches of the rear of the AC charging Jack. Once you get the control panel open... (the mystery we both seem to be having issues with) Follow the wire off terminal 1 of the AC charging Jack... It will lead you to the fuse holder.

Hi,
It looks like you will have to remove the fuel tank to get to the screws that hold the start switch box...the screws go down through the plate under the fuel tank to hold it on...

Thank you for your response, I had already tried removing the screws from the corners and the tank wouldn't lift off. Do you know if anything has to be removed from the control panel front?
Thank you in advance for your response.
I have a Generac XP8000E that has a blown fuse for the electric start. I have already removed the screws for the gas tank, but it won't come off. How do I access the fuse?
Thank you Kelly...,
Yes, I believe the fuse you referenced is the fuse I am talking about. It is the inline fuse for the battery charger. My manual says it is located behind the battery for the electric start., There is a charging peg on the control panel, but I cannot figure out whether I have to remove the fuel tank before I remove the control panel cover. My problem is not in changing the fuse, but rather how to access iit. I would think there would be a relatively easy way, but I can't figure it out.
Thanjk you Kelly for going above and beyond in trying to research my problem.
Sherry
Did you all ever figure this out? Here is what I learned!
There is indeed a fuse "inside" the plastic cover behind the control panel.
Remove the torx screws, T27, I think.
Remove a phillips screw using a long #1 phillips from the fuel control knob.
Now the control panel will move a bit for you without having to take off the fuel tank.
Next, there are 8 nuts and washers, 7mm socket will do the trick.
Remove them from around the plastic housing. Yeah, you do have to be a contortion artist to get a few loose.
Directly behind the charger jack is the fuse holder in question. Replace with 1.5A 250v slow blow only.
While mine was apart, i cut this thing out and went to radio shack and got a panel mount fuse holder. A little soldering and I never have to take that control panel off for a blown fuse.
Geez, why didnt generac put the fuse holder right at the battery?
Jeffrey Beck... you are a saint and a very talented person! I gave up trying because I never got a correct answer. Being older, it nearly kills us to pull start it. We are in the process of removing the screws, but know your solution will work! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
I had the same problem, but being lazy i didn't want to unscrew all that hardware, so I went to Rat Shack and bought two Banana posts and a fuse holder, installed these components to the battery cover, added wires to connect to the battery's posts. I had to modify the charger to connect to the Banana Jacks but, in my case this was much easier to do then to perform the acrobatics required in the above solution.
