Pride Legend 3-wheel scooter. I believe it was purchased in 2001. In both forward and reverse the scooter will move a couple of feet then abruptly stops as if the throttle was released. The LED flashes quickly. Turning the key off and on resets it. It will then move a couple more feet then abruptly stop again.

Hi,

This problem can be caused by a faulty signal from the throttle lever to the processor due to an intermittent failure of the throttle lever or the temperature switch for the motor is showing an "over heat " condition & the processor shuts down the system , until the switch is cycled. This will need to be checked & tested by a technician to verify the problem for repair.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I have a Pride Legend 4 wheel Gopher. I have a rubbing noise in motor somewhere. I have checked it out and found nothing.

Question edited for clarity and punctuation.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks to Pride Legend.

If it is inside the motor is is likely to be bearings. You would need to remove the motor, test it out of the scooter and see if it still make the noise. If it does, then it need a full disassembly to find out what is worn?

My view is that is more likely to be the brake rubbing, or a stick/leaf stuck behind the wheel.

Why won't my pride legend start?

The legend has a Curtis controller. The flash codes you provided points the problem to a faulty throttle pot. If a new throttle does not fix the issue, then your problem is the controller itself.

I have a celebrity pride 3 wheel scooter and when i move lever to forward or reverse all it does is click but no movement

Have you checked the speed pot is not turned down too low?
No flash / beep codes.
I would check motor connector on drive unit, motor brushes.

Go Go Scooter travels in reverse, but when going forward it comes to an abrupt stop every few seconds. Everything else appears to work normally. Any ideas?

csr4 Well it could be the throttle pot or the speed control pot My leanings is toward the throttle pot since it works in reverse with the speed pot not being changed but not forward. when you are just changing the position of the throttle to forward thereby changing the pot wiper and getting the error. Contact Pride about the problem at 1-800-800-8586 and ask for Tech support for scooters and explain your problem to them. I hope this helps

I have a pride mobility a scooter, maxima, when attempting to move forward just a clicking soound occurs no movement

When mine does this it means she is not fully in gear. Try manually moving it back and forth a few inches and see if it clicks in.(Like moving the seat back in the car and it doesn't quite click in.) If it doesn't work take it fully back out of gear and try again. Mine is a pride victory 3 wheeler, to check the exact specs on yours follow the link below for a pdf of your user manual. Forward/Reverse switch not working Revo Pride

Could it be in free-wheel mode. Most Prides have a pull up knob at the rear of the scooter.
