How do I remove the child lock message on my Panasonic Inverter Microwave?

Was the child safety lock accidentally set?

Why dont NEFF tell you that Error E8010 and E8020 relate to the door lock. I found after E8010 was displayed that the child lock also did not work but did not produce an error. I carefully actuated the door lock by hand, And then tried the self clean again and it worked. During manual movement of the lock Mechanism E8021 error came up. Conclusion is NEFF dont care about customer support only exploitation of their customer base Shame on them!

Which model do you have? For the AEG Competence B9820, you toggle the Child Lock on and off by pressing and holding the Selection Clock and - buttons simultaneously until the Child Lock changes state. Please add a comment with the model number for direction specific to your oven. I will attempt to determine if there is a different combination to enable or disable the child lock feature. Note: at least one AEG microwave/grill uses Press "Micro+Grill" once. Then press "Clear/Stop" 5 times to toggle the child lock on and off.

There are a few reasons for this. One is the most obvious and that is the child lock switch needs to be engaged to unlock.Some models call it panel lock.
Turning the panel lock on and off:
To turn the panel lock on, press and hold the Panel Lock key for four seconds. The Panel Lock symbol will appear in the display.
To turn the panel lock off, press and hold the Panel Lock key for four seconds. The message in the display will disappear.

Yes I actually have the same model and mine has that very same plaque; screw included! Im assuming since mine has never been repaired and I purchased it myself from the store, that the plaque is safe by the companies standards.

This is an safety features that prevents unwanted oven operation by children.

To set child lock...
Touch and hold STOP/CLEAR or 0,START until LOCKED appears in the display and two beeps are heard. If the time of day was already set, the time of day will return to the display windows. After you touch another.

If the CHILD LOCK was already set and you touched another cooking pad, the word LOCKED shows in the display.
Then you can cancel the CHILD LOCK according the below procedure...
Touch and hold STOP/CLEAR or 0,START pad until LOCKED disappears in the display.

Aftes the CHILD LOCK is turned off, the time of day will return to the display window. The oven will operate normally.

I actually had the same problem and got the solution. Maybe its a bit late, but hopefully there will be somebody who find this useful as well.

Its not an error. The -5- indicates that the oven is "children protected".
- Put the left ON/OFF switch into its OFF position (the left switch)
- Turn it quickly 3 times: one click to the left and then one click back to right again [light position, Off position]
=> The message disappers.

If you do this again, the protection is switched on again.
