I have a Procusom 11 processor and it stopped working. I know that it's from the cord because it starts to work momentarily when I bend it or straighten it out. I know this is an old model, but it worked so well so far and would like to keep it.

SOURCE: Repaired cord is not working

make sure the plug is wired correctly .. the colors of wires depend on what country it came from .. in the US it would have a black, white and green wire ... the black wire would be connnected to the small flat prong (thats the AC hot wire) .. the white wire would be connected to the wide flat prong (thats AC return) and the green wire would go to the round grouund connection .. if these are not wired correctly then it may not work and could be dangerous .. have it checked by anyone that is familiar with electronics .. make sure the pup didnt chew another spot on the wire ... ..

Can't get cuisenart pro 11 to start

I am assuming you have a DLC-8S Pro Custom 11, and not another Cuisinart food processor.

Remove the work bowl and all other parts completely from base.
Plug the base in, and turn it on.
Use a pen to press in the dark grey or black button on top of the base.
If you hear a spinning or other noise, the motor is still good.

Now that you have verified that the motor is good:
Put each work bowl piece on one at a time - if you don't out it on one at a time, it will not lock in properly.
Put work bowl on with work bowl handle facing front, make sure bowl locks.
Put lid on with hollow feed tube facing the back of the food processor.
Put pusher sleeve into lid's feed tube, with sliding lock switch facing the front of the food processor.

You should now be good to go.

Machine on but not working

The video is generic, and may actually show a different model with completely different assembly instructions. For the DLC-8S and DFP-11 series, you want work bowl handle facing the front of the processor, feed tube on lid facing back of the processor, and sliding lock switch facing the front of the machine. For the DLC-2011, you want work bowl handle facing front, lid lined up with work bowl handle, and metal element hanging from pusher facing front.

To make sure the motor is working first, remove the work bowl, blade, etc. completely from the base of the food processor. Plug the base in and turn the food processor on. Then use a pen to press in the dark gray or black button on top of the processor - if it makes a sound, your motor is good. If it doesn't, call Cuisinart and get your processor repaired.

Good luck!

Won't turn on

Removing a Cuisinart Food Processor Work Bowl
You have to remove the pusher first by twisting it off. Then press the sides of the pusher sleeve inward and slide the sleeve up and out of place. Then twist off the lid - all twisting on these food processors works either clockwise or counterlcokwise - not both. Then twist the work bowl to the left (clockwise). Voila!
