Removing and replacing a water filter - inside liner location

Filters situated in the interior liner of the refrigerator compartment of Samsung-built side-by-side refrigerators are relatively simple to replace. Follow these steps:

  1. Grasp the filter and make a one quarter turn to the left. There should be an indicator line located on the filter bracket cover. The install mark on the filter itself will line up with this indicator line.

  2. Pull down gently on the filter to remove it from the mounting bracket assembly. Be careful to not tip the filter, as water may spill out of it.

  3. Discard the used filter.

  4. Remove the new filter from its packaging, and remove the red plastic cap from filter cartridge.

  5. Apply the appropriate month sticker to the filter to remind yourself to change it again in six months' time.

  6. Line the install mark on the filter up with the indicator line found on the filter bracket cover. Push up on the filter. Turn the filter a quarter turn to the right to lock it in place. The remove mark on the filter should line up with the indicator line of the filter bracket cover.

Note: Replacing this type of filter is quick - there is no need to unplug your refrigerator when replacing it. Also, this filter should be replaced every six months.

WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP
AGAINST THE FILL RESERVOIR CAUSING A PARTIAL BLOCKAGE
OR BECOME CLOGGED WITH ICE.
REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK
TEMP IN FREEZER. IF TEMP IS BELOW 0 DEGREES, THATS
OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

My Samsung rs2630 ice maker quit working and water will leak out of the ice tray. Large ice steams appear in my exit dispenser and down the back side of my freezer

The water valve that feeds water to the icemaker for 7 seconds each cycle is leaking by when it is supposed to be closed. You can prove this by first turning the ice maker OFF and then removing the placstic line on the back of the unit that connects to the rubber thru the chassis water tube. (Just pull down on the tube) Place the removed tube in a bucket for about 8 hours. If there is ANY water in the bucket the water valve is laking by when it is supposed to be closed. The only fix for this is to replace the water valve.

Thanks for Choosing FixYa.

Samsung RS2630 freezer not cold and inside panels hot what do I need to do to fix it ?

Hi,the problem with your freezer is the compressor, the compressor is either short of freon gas or the pumping pressure is too low to pump gas through the entire unit.however, this requires the expertise of a professional. I will suggest you contact the nearest freezer technician to help you fix it.

Samsung fridge RS2630, icing up on freezer and fridge not cooling

Could be the defrost element. If it does not work and melt the ice off of the evaporator, icing will continue and serve as an insulator. Freezer and refrigerator temps will suffer.
If you unplug the unit and let it defrost for a day and plug back in it will work fine till it freezes up again.

Freezer light flashing

if you have ice built up on rear wall of freezer section then your unit is not going through defrost cycle which builds up frost on evaporator and restricts cold air flow over to the fresh food side.

ICEMAKER WILL NOT DUMP ICE

I'm not making any promises. But after years of selling refrigerators, without having to call a tech...Make sure your freezer is at zero degrees, as the icemaker is activated by temp. not only time. Ice cream should be hard as a rock. Try setting your freezer colder; and don't do the human nature thing by checking every 30mins to see if it make ice. You'll just dump the cold air out. The bucket stays full of ice until the next cycle. That may be why it stalled.
Good Luck,
Jeff

Side by side makes a whistling sound--Model RS2630

I have the same frig-- The sound is coming from the litttle fan behind the frid. Take the bottom silver cover off and you will see the fan in a plactic white frame thing. Unplug it and then put a little oil inside the fan motor-- (oil based solvent). You may have to take it out of the plastic frame. To get the oil into the motor really good. Just use some 3 in 1 oil or wd-40. You will probably have to repeat this every couple of months. But it gets rid of that awful nosie. I also found that if you give the frig more air to circulate than the oil will last longer. Meaning don't put the frig so close to the wall. Oh please remember to unplug the frig first. I hope this helps.
