MY FEDDER DEHUMIDIER RUNS ALL THE TIME AND CLLECT VERY LITTLE WATER AND THE AIR FILTER IS CLEAN.

It is normal for a dehumidifier to discharge warm air. A dehumidifier is really an air conditioner - a fan blows humid room air across a cold fin coil that causes the moisture to condense on it and drip into a container - thus cooling AND dehumidifying the air. The cool air is blown over the warm coil and discharged out the back. A dehumidifier WILL normally increase the temperature of the room it is in.
You can do the same thing with sitting an A/C unit on a stool in a room. Room air will be drawn in, cold air will come out the front, hot air out the back and water will drip on the floor. And, the room will get hotter, due to what is called "heat of compression" even though you're running an A/C unit.

clean the dust off of the condenser in the front or the filter if it has one. no air flow results in overheating and no condensation across the evaporator coil.

There are 5 basic, but solvable reasons for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2.

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the Humid-i-stat sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

No all of the above may apply to your circumstance, but keep them in mind for non water collecting problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

If the unit is not pulling water into the bucket its probably not that humid in that area anymore. If it aint broke dont fix it.

It may be that the humidity level or temperature in the room where your dehumidifier is located is too low.

When the outdoor temperature is below 50 F, the indoor air will be dry even when the air inside is warm, therefore when it's cold outside the dehumidifier may collect little or no water.

Air conditioners will also remove moisture from the room, even if it's hot and humid outside, resulting in little or no moisture collecting in the dehumidifier bucket.

Some dehumidifiers have a deicer which turns off the compressor but keeps the fan running. When the compressor is off, moisture is not removed from the air. The deicer turns off the compressor when the room temperature is cold.

Some dehumidifiers do not have a deicer. If the room temperature is low enough, ice may form on the evaporator coil. The ice prevents the dehumidifier from removing and collecting water. If ice forms on coils, unplug dehumidifier until ice melts and room temperature rises.

The filter (on some models) may be dirty or clogged. If so, clean the filter. For instructions on cleaning the filter.

Check the filter and make sure that the water level is correct. If all is correct then replace the water level sensor

If you haven't done so already, try removing and cleaning the inlet filter screen which is almost certainly just behing the inlet grille. If this is blocked with fluff then no moist air will get to the cold pipes, so little or no water will be extracted. There's also a chance that the humidity sensor is clogged with fluff, so fooling the system into thinking the room is pretty dry.

Is the compressor running? A running compressor can usually be detected as a deep throbbing from the machine.
If it is running, but not cooling the pipes, then you may have lost the refrigerant from the system via a leak. If the air coming out of the machine is warm (caused by the compressor running) but there is no water produced this is usually the cause.

It is more than likely the compressor is not running, only the fan.
It seams that the humidity sensor is flaky on these units. You can,
operate the unit, by opening up the dehumidifier and unplug the sensor from the main board. The unit will cycle on and off and remove the water from the air.....good luck
