While TV was on, working fine, it just shut off. Power indicator light is blinking - hit the power button on the remote, power indicator light then blinks faster, but tv does not turn on. Hit the power button again on the remote, power indicator light is on steady, tv does not turn on. ???
You could have gotten an electrical surge that put your set into a shutdown condition and unplugging the set and letting the Microprocessor reset will fix this problem if it dosent blow out the main power regulator as you still or might I say have a regulator IC problem. IF THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN MORE THEN A FEW TIMES WITHIN A SMALL TIME FRAME I WOULD HAVE THE SET LOOKED AT BEFORE THE REGULAOR BLOWS SOMETHING OUT!!!!
I am also facing the problem like this, TV power indicator blinks continously. TV doesnt come to normal
Try checking the projection bulb.Should be an axess panel on side of tv. Be sure the tv is cooled down and unpluged from the wall.Bulb held in with 2 screws. don't touch the lens of bulb. You will be able to see if bulb is good.
We had this problem on our tv. It would drive us nuts. If you unplug the TV from the wall, it would reset and be fine. Strangely enough, we moved and since it has been in the new house, roughly 3 months, the problem has never happened again.
I HAD A CONFERGENCE ERROR AFTER SEEING THAT I NEEDED TO AUTO TUNE. NOW THE POWER BUTTON JUST BLINKS. I TURNED ALL POWER OFF TO TV ALL NIGHT, THEN TURNED ON POWER. JUST A BLINKING LIGHT NOW . ANY HELP PLEASE. KEVIN MODEL 42H81 TOSHIBA
Remote is working correctly - tv was unpluggled and then plugged back in - everything working correctly...
My TW40F80 (10 yrs.old) kept going out and power light blinking. When turning the power off then on did not bring it back any more, I had service. The tech 'rebuilt the convergence circuit' with a $70 part from his truck. Works fine now, but total cost was $99 service call, $75 part and tax and a whopping $229 labor for about 45 min. of working on the convergence circuit. TV works great $404 later.
1. make sure the power card is plugged in, then press POWER. 2. the remote control batteries my be dead. good luck :-)
Hi,
The
Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in
the TV. The self-diagnostic function of the TV will cause the STANDBY light to
blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the
STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue.
Few
examples are given below; some of the issues may be resolved without the need
for service.
1 blink / 2 blinks / 5 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a
power-related problem with your set.
3 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your
set. The set will need to be serviced to allow a technician to determine the
specific issue that needs to be repaired. If the power light flashes three
times in sequence in a Lamp TV, the lamp cover is not securely attached.
Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
4 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a back light or lamp power
problem.
6 blinks: - This indicates that there is some kind of audio problem with your
set.
7 blinks: - This indicates that there is a temperature problem with your set.
Please check to make sure that the air vents on the sides and back of the set
are not blocked or clogged and there is adequate ventilation around the
television. We recommend that you check and clean the vents periodically to
make sure the set receives adequate air flow. If the problem continues, the set
will need to be serviced.
8 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a video-related problem with your
set. If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash,
follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Turn off the television.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
If
the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from
the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet.
If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge
protector and not the television.
If
the issue continues to occur, service may be required.
Thanks
for using Fixya.

my tv does the exact same thing. if i unplug it, plug it back in, turn it back on, it will work for a very short time(1-3 min). i did vaccum all the dust out. i know it has a power down system to save it from further damage if something overheats.
Power is getting to the TV with the red standby light blinking but tv will not turn on when using the remote control. Have replaced batteries in remote but still not working.
