I have a kitchen aid blender. I noticed it was emitting some smoke and disconnected the unit. Waited until it cooled off and tried to see if it was working. All the lights go on and blink but it is not working. Can it be fixed at home or does it need to be professionally serviced. If so where should I take it to be serviced?

SOURCE: I need a coupling for

The piece that you need is referred to as the coupler. The coupler is a breakway part that is designed to shear and/or wear down in the event that the blender is overloaded. This is to avoid damage to the motor.

The coupler may be purchased individually and is an easy repair that can be done at home. You may purchase the part and access step-by-step replacement instructions at the following link:

SOURCE: Will kitchen aid purchased in USA work in australia?

The Australian outlets will zap that blender - you need to purchase a 240V to 120V transformer in order to make it work.

SOURCE: the blades stopped turning in the middle of

Does the motor still work if you take the pitcher off of the base? If so, the rod that's in the blade assembly is probably corroded. The blades are connected to a metal rod that passes through a brass tube through to the piece that makes contact with the motor when you put the pitcher on the base. The grease wears down eventually and if you don't pulse and run the motor for a long time at once, the heat can corrode the bar and cause the blade to stop spinning. You can either disassemble the blade unit, or buy a new blade unit online. google blender parts and you can get one for $10

Broken magnet of a Kitchen Aid Blender. Where can I find another one? KSB5WH4

From Kitchen Aid they only come on a new motor. I am a Kitchen Aid service agent and I remove them from burnt out motors and keep them. Look for a service agent near you and see if they can help you out. I have no idea where you are, I'm in New Zealand.

How to repair tefal 8143 dough mixer

You could try asking this in the Tefal part of this forum instead of the Kitchen Aid area as folks who know Tefal may not be browsing this area. You could also be a little more specific about exactly what the fault is that needs repairing.

I have a kitchen aid blender with a polycarbonate jar. The jar leaks at the blade. I noticed it has a plastic nut on the bottom with left hand threads. However the nut will not fit over the drive gear...

Older KitchenAid blenders had a jar that was made so the blade assembly could be removed for cleaning. On the newer models the blender jar and the blade assembly are all one unit so you have to purchase a new jar to get the blade assembly. All of this is dependent on which model of blender you have.

We would be happy to help you. Please a give us a call at 1-800-339-9297 we would be happy to help! One of our repair technicians can talk you through the repair over the phone free of charge. On the bottom of your blender is the model and serial numbers; have these handy when you call so we can help you order the correct part.

We have several blender jars on our Web site http://www.mendingshed.com/kitaidblen.html for KitchenAid blenders. If we don't have the blender jar that fits your model in-stock we can order it and ship it to you. Please contact us with any further questions. You can also email your model number or questions to [email protected]

We own a kitchen aide blender and it has started to leak. This jar does not come apart. do we need to replace the jar?

The Instruction & Recipe booklet for the Kitchen Aid KSB550, KSB560, KSB570, KSB580 5-speed Blender can be found here:

http://www.kitchenaid.ca/assets/pdfs/literature/Use%20and%20Care%20Guide%20-%209709225.pdf

There is no infomration to suggest that the blender blade could be removed for replacement of a seal

On page 27 of the pdf (page 24 if printed) there is contact information for ordering replacement parts. You might ask if the blade assemly can be ordered and replaced separtely but I believe you must replace trhe blender jar and blade unit as one piece.

My rarely used Sunbeam Blender Model #4181 stopped working

It sounds like one of a number of things...

* The contacts in the switches fried
* The motor itself fried
* The controller section fried

If you saw smoke, something fried... probably cheaper to simply replace the unit. Even if it still worked, it's a 120V electric appliance used with liquids, and I wouldn't trust it... I'd hate to hear that your blender started a kitchen fire.
