The page count on these units is a lifetime count and does not get reset. Larger machines like th P4015 have a maintenance count which is reset when the fuser is replaced.

There is no resettable page count on this printer. If you are referring to the counter for the toner level, that is reset by a chip on the cartridge. That chip only works once and if you are using a refilled cartrige that chip should have been replaced. If you refilled it yourself you will need to check on Ebay to find a replacement chip. If you bought a refilled from someone else, take it back and get them to change it. If you bought an OEM HP cartridge and it does not reset the count then call HP as the guarantee their cartridges.

The page counts and serial number on these units cannot be adjusted or overwritten. You are stuck with the zero count if you installed a new formatter, or the page count on the formatter if you installed a used one. Just put a label on the back that says, formatter changed at XXXXX pages.

Solution found: Change the scan default format to Tiff, but then save the document as PDF on the workstation. We think this is a newly discovered but unintended feature of the newest hp scanner software package.

You go to the Main Menu on the physical printer, then you look for reports , hit enter and finally look for "usage page"
This will show the number of copies you have printer with the unit

Why would you offer a smart *** comment to a potentially legitimate question? I have the same issue after replaceing the formatter board, the printer is reporting SN12345678 as the serial number.

Go to printer and faxes, right click on the printer and click on Printing Preferences, check if you have any option for count in there as changing the printer properties in this was makes the changed permanent.

Depending on exactly what model LaserJet you have, you can print a Self-Test page or Status Page when you change the toner cartridge that will give you a page count.
