If you have spark problems, remove the wire and then remove the plug, reattach the wire and ground the plug to the engine and pull the string, you should see arc and hear it pop, if not, take the plug to another piece of equipment and remove that equipment's plug wire and attach it to the plug from the weed ******* and then ground it and test it. If still no spark, then plug bad, if plug then the weed ******* has a problem with the spark plug wire or the ignition coil.

If you have spark at first test, then the problem with the weed ******* is somewhere else.

I have a Craftsman 32cc weedwhacker string trimmer model # 358.791070 that just suddenly stopped running and I can't get it to restart. What could be wrong?

There is literally many different things that could be wrong. First off, in this very hot weather the Eastern US is having...it could have overheated, vaporizing the fuel and causing it to die. The machine can recover from this. I do suspect a fuel problem however as that is the case about 90% of the time on these machines. A loose or frayed wire in the magneto or On/Off switch can cause a shut down as well. So, there are shut downs (like yours) and any or all of these things can also lead to a NO-START condition as well. If it is STILL not starting, I would do a detailed inspection of the entire fuel system, from the fuel filter in the tank, the fuel lines, and the overall condition of the carburetor (which may have ingested some dirt/debris ) causing a fuel starvation issue. They make a cheap gasket and diaphragm kit for the carburetor and it usually fixes fuel problems after disassembly, cleaning, installing the kit and reinstalling the carb.

Craftsman 32cc gas trimmer ran a couple times this season, then will not start. Changed plug, new gas mix, cleaned filter and spark arrestor. No luck. Pull cord is hard to pull in the first foot or so,...

Pull the spark plug and hold the side against the engine while pulling the string. check to see if there is a spark you may need another person to help. Was the air filter oily when you cleaned it? If so you might need to remove and clean the carburetor.

Many things to check. Spark, fuel and compression. Check these to narrow it down.

Sounds like a carb problem. You may need to rebuild it. Check to see if your fuel lines inside the tank have rotted. Common problem on Craftsman.

32cc crafstman weedwhacker (2 yrs old)flooding wont start

Nope, it's not the carb. The plug is wet and probably black as well. Wet plug and lots of smoke means too much oil in the mix which is where the problem lies. Get a compression tester and look at the pressure reading; anything less than 90psi means the piston ring is stuck and needs to be replaced/cleaned.

My craftsman 32 cc 2 cycle line trimmer doesn't

Check the line head and cable, there may be grass or something like twine twisted between the shaft and housing. If nothing is found there take the spark plug out and see if it will turn over, possibly liquid gasoline has gotten into the cylinder somehow.

Have craftsman 32cc gas line trimmer it runs until given gas

Replace the spark plug, clean the air filter and fill the tank with new fuel at the correct fuel oil ratio. Had the same problem last year. Tried to cheat with year old gas.
