I have a TB70SS trimmer. I used my trimmer on half my yard with no problem, turned it off to cut the grass with the lawnmower, then tried to turn on my weedeater again, and noticed the primer bulb would not fill. I thought it was the bulb, so I went and bought one and replaced it. It still does not fill so my trimmer will not start. Checked and replaced all fuel lines. Why would it stop working suddenly?

First, the primer/purge bulb does NOT have to fill completely to function. It's purpose is to remove old fue and AIR from the fuel system (carb) and move it back into the fuel tank. You normally will have an air pocket in the bulb. An air leak in the fuel system or loose carburetor screws or fuel lines in the wrong location can cause your problem. Check the fuel line and fuel filter for a good connection in the fuel tank. Remove the fuel pump cover on the carb and make sure the very small, round, wire mesh filter is not clogged with debris. When old fuel lines deteriorate, they crumble and if the filter is broken off, the fuel line to the carb will ingest bits and pieces of old fuel line. Check all these things and post back.Sometimes, if the bulb is on the carb, a check valve in the carb can stick. When you check the condition of the mesh filter inside the carb (opposite the side with the vent hole), then liberally spray with WD 40. Strong solvents and cleaners can SWELL up the tiny check valves in the carb, causing problems. So you see, it is hard to pinpoint exactly what happened without some removal of parts and diagnosis.

My Troy-Bilt Self Propelled Lawnmower Wheel Not Turning on Grass

Hi,

Please pour some oil on the axel of the lawn mower wheel before attempting to use it on the grass again. If this fails again, it might be time to upgrade your lawnmower.

Thank you.

Weed eater turns but will not cut the grass

Start with carb adjustment. Turn out the low and high adjusting needles 1 full turn, then adjust the choke.

TB70ss clutch

Check to see if there is any material collected around the base of the head, around the tube that provides the energy to spin. It may cause the power to be diminished a great deal, so that must be cleaned away thoroughly. Check to see if you can spin the head freely by your hand, without the motor being on. If not, it may need lubrication down the indide of the power shaft. A light grease would do that, or even a heavy oil poured down the shaft, but not too much.

How do we operate the trimmer to change it to trim along the edges of lawn. Can't find our information.

Most string trimmers can do this. Just turn it half-way around so the black handle is close to the ground (now string will spin in a verticle sweep instead of parallel to ground). Just walk along sidewalk nad trim. You will have to hold tightly to keep the line straight (brace against your hip and try to make several passes and cut a little at a time).

You may have a button that allows you to only turn the cutting head half way around (so you don't have to use your thumb to operate the switch). Either way, it will work fine.

Why do grass get stuck in lawnmower than it starts to turn off

This can be happening from a couple of reasons, first if your grass is too damp this will happen with almost any mower, wait till the lawn dries out before cutting, you may be cutting the lawn when it is too high, try cutting it twice a week maybe this will help, you may try to raise the cut setting eliminating the amount of grass clippings that you have accumulated, if you are mulching or using the bag be sure the chute is clear, and lastly be sure you are running at a higher speed to push through the terrain.
Happy Mowing!!

I used to be able to snip my whole yard in one go when I first got the Grass Hog. It was just doing maybe half of my yard. I have just recently replaced the battery and it's still only doing half of my...

You should completely discharge the battery before you charge it again. That should allow more time on the cut unless there is a problem with the bearings or shaft. Good luck...Lee

It looks like its working fine, but it doesn't cut the grass. Looks like the string is spinning with the turn instead of against it, if that makes any sense.

If the string is spinning it should cut no mater which way it is turning. maybe you aren't getting the trimmer close enough to the grass.
