Tip & How-To about Irons
I have seen many questions posted which cannot be answered simply for lack of basic details.
It is understandable - you have a problem which needs a rapid response. In frustration, you post a brief description of your problem just to get it out there. But this reduces your chances of getting a response at all.
I therefore advise that you try to take the time to provide good information such as make and model, your observations of the problem and steps you took to reach the problem, what else you have tried etc.
For example instead of saying "Iron won't turn on", try:
"My Rowenta DG-980 does not heat up. When I switch it on at the wall plug, the red light is off. If I adjust the thermostat dial, it clicks at a certain point, the red light comes on but still the iron does not heat."
