Tip & How-To about Irons

Getting a fast fixya.com reply

I have seen many questions posted which cannot be answered simply for lack of basic details.

It is understandable - you have a problem which needs a rapid response. In frustration, you post a brief description of your problem just to get it out there. But this reduces your chances of getting a response at all.

I therefore advise that you try to take the time to provide good information such as make and model, your observations of the problem and steps you took to reach the problem, what else you have tried etc.

For example instead of saying "Iron won't turn on", try:
"My Rowenta DG-980 does not heat up. When I switch it on at the wall plug, the red light is off. If I adjust the thermostat dial, it clicks at a certain point, the red light comes on but still the iron does not heat."

I hope this helps in enhancing your chances of solving your problem.

Why is there steam coming out of the bottom of the generator when I press steam button???

No one is able to answer this Dawn and Julia, because no one mentions what 'make and model' you have!

Julia post your own question as a new question.

'make model (what it is)' as the first three words. And then the question with as much details as you can.

In all likelihood you have a split seam or a defective valve.
