Tip & How-To about Televison & Video

Spectrum World Box 210 DVR menu issues and delays

Install a coax amplifier with ACTIVE return. These are available on Amazon. The passive amplifiers will not send a good signal back to the cable company causing delays with the menus, skipping, guide problems etc. PCT makes a good amplifier that has active return and is very reasonable. Took me months to figure this out but solved all issues that I was having.

Behringer Xenyx 1622FX - How do i get a passive stage monitor to work?

You need to send your signal from the mixer to an amplifier and then go from the amp to your speakers.

Alternatively, buy a pair of active speakers.

i have a subwoofer and speakers from a surround sound system but the dvd part has blown up can i use the subwoofer and speakers with another unit

sure u can. but depends either your system is active or passive. active means the speakers (or sub) driven by built-in amplifier, so the dvd delivers a low signal to the speakers amp and they amplify the sound for the speakers. passive means the amplifier is built into the dvd and delivers the amplified sound signal to the speakers thru speaker cable. if you tell me model number and brand i can find out what type they are.

Why is my LED TV blurry using coxial cable input

HDMI, Component Cables are recommended for hifg definition viewing. coax has many strands of copper wire with a sheathing around it of aluminum foil. at a distance of a few feet it can easily be a bad crimped connection. but the wires with a bad ground will always cause issues.

you see, coax cables are good for standard broadcasting and normal tv sets, for a quality connectyion they havre specialhmdi cables thjat use bandwiths to send colorts along eatchother like rg and b they will easily transmit clear and stable images. coax uses F-type connectors and are prone to many problems.

but in the spirit of A DIY option. getting a cable line amplifier might just clear up the blurriness by injecting a signal boost in the line. good luck.

here is my suggestion for you a 50 dollar quick fix plug and play.

how to wire in a cross over

You didn't say if it was active or passive, but here is both:

Passive crossovers are easy to install. By definition, the only type of connections they require are to your speaker line. They typically get installed between the end of the speaker wire and the speaker. Connection should be fairly simple, just like hooking up the speaker itself.

Now F-Mod crossovers modify the audio signal before it is amplified. They accept the patch cord from your receiver on one end, and then plug directly into the preamp inputs on your amplifier. They are also easy to install, and don't require additional wiring.

An active crossover requires a little more work. You have to connect 12-volt power, ground, and a turn-on lead. The active crossover gets installed between your receiver and your amplifier. A lot of active crossovers have both speaker-level and preamp inputs, so they can usually work with either type of connection. The outputs will be preamp connections to your amplifier. Hope that helps.
