I took my traxxas t maxx 2.5 to the beach and
Firstly the engine could have breathed in some sand from the beach thus causing the lack of power , it could also be that the glow plug requires changing too, this is a common problem on nitro cars, especially when the engine gets too hot and doesnt get much cooling. Reset to factory settings on the carb(see your manual or download one) then restart , also make sure you are using the correct fuel , it must be 20% nitro. Lastly for the replacement from 2.5 to 3.3 yes you can do it . all you have to do is unbolt the old 2.5 replace with the 3.3 plumb in and wire is as before , check the messing on the spur gear. though be cautious not to over rev the engine as you will strip the spur gear.
Traxxas 2.5 is overheating
wow, 315 degrees is way too hot. one way to fix that is to turn the high speed needle out 4 1/2 turns from all the way in. this will help fix the stalling problem and the heat.
When i push my t-maxx 2.5 to the ground the back

Need a manual or something
There are actually 3 screws on the carb. The big one is the most important, it adjust the high speed fuel mixture. A good starting point is 2 1/2 turns out from fully seated. There is a small screw which is located right next to the air intake. This is the idle stop and should be set so that the engine idles smoothly. The third screw is located on the side. It is also small and it controls the idle fuel mixture. A good starting point for the idle fuel mixture screw is 1 3/4 turns out from fully seated.
Chassis replacent
There are no books or manuals telling you the best step by step, but I can tell you that it is not to difficult. I suggest starting with the front gear box, and just make your way back, swapping part for part if you are unsure. Hope this helps
I bought an older t maxx 2.5 was running great
Hi
The plug could be fouled. The gas could be contaminated, there could be an air leak in the tank or the lines, the carb filter could be dirty or the last time you ran it the engine sucked in a bunch of dirt. I would start by cleaning the the car completely. Hobbytown USA makes a cleaner which cleans off all the gunk and is water soluble so after you spray it down to loosen the dirt you can hit it with a high pressure hose. Now, replace the plug and carb filter. Drain the tank and tubing. Just the tank for air leaks. Just disconnect the engine gas inlet, tap off the pressure line and then blow into the tank. The pressure should stay constant. If not replace. Now refill the tank, change the plug and make sure there is no dirt stuck in the muffler. It should start easily at this point. If not, then there is probably an air leak in the carb or there excessive dirt in the engine. They would require a strip down next. Most hobby store will do all this for you. Hobbytown USA really seems to know what they're doing. Good luck
I just bought a t-maxx off of ebay, didn't come
The red thumbswitch on the transmitter controls the forward/reverse servo. With the body off of the truck, flip the switch up and down and see if the servo is moving. The servo moves a linkage back and forth in the transmission. This linkage could be out of adjustment. If the servo is not moving remove the receiver box and make sure that the servo is plugged into the receiver. Manuals are available from Traxxas, you can check on their website. You might even be able to download a copy from the web site. If not you can purchase a hard copy from them.
My t maxx 2.5 is driving and steering by itself.
Sounds like an antenna problem. Make sure the antenna is isolated from any metal of the chassis or engine. Also make sure the antenna is not damaged anywhere. You could try purchasing crystals on a different frequency, but I think that it is more likely a mechanical issue.
Spur gear is giving me problems
two things can be happening 1. you mother mount is moving 2. the the chasis is flexing too much.
most likley the first one. try using some loctite on the screws that hold the motor mount.
