The one my kids had (a couple of years ago) could only hold 2 or 3 books at a time. Just limitations of the storage capacity.

Have you tried removing parental control or running it as administrator?

Have you tried the alternative LeapFrog Connect Installer from the link below, although I suspect it could be a classic Windows 7 Driver problem.

it needs a software supported update . Find and download and use the software from the providers official website

I have the same problem and am trying to get a hold of them for the problem to be fixed. They keep telling me to clean the lense, or re download the books. The laser light won't even turn on. I can listen to the books just fine!!

Question   My computer meets all the minimum system requirements but when I try to download the LeapFrog Connect Application, I receive the error message "Your computer must meet minimum required System Configuration"   Answer   Please make sure your monitor resolution is set at 1024 X 768 pixels or higher and then try to download the application again.

Has the volume been good before? Here is an excerpt from a review on Amazon.com:
CONS: The TAG EATS batteries. Be sure to have a supply of AAA batteries on hand. The volume could use a boost; my daughters are sometimes holding the pen to their ears in order to hear the narrative (they're not too fond of earphones, so that's not an option for us).
If the volume was higher before, chances are that the volume control is bad. Not sure if you could get replacement parts, but you could try to contact them. Here is their support page:

hey m8 to fix the problem install it on your computer and click my tag once that is selected you should have a messeage come up saying update tag after you have done this the pen will work fine pal any problems give me an e-mail [email protected]
