It might be the peg perego motor in the rear that is going bad, thus causing the fuse to trip. I had the same problem with my kids toy so I contacted a service center for Peg Perego at 1.801.655.0800
They were able to help me over the phone and get the right parts out to me.

It sounds like the wires are on the wrong terminals in the foot switch. I would call the repair department at 1.801.655.0800, they always help me out when I don't know whats wrong with my little ones gator

you may need to fit a new battery or the drive motor has burnt out?
if the battery is over 3 years old its past its sell by date and if its been ran fully flat often or left flat that will shorten its life as well,,,
the battery is not to pricy,, you could try testing the motor by hooking up with "jump leads" a car battery just to check the motor is ok,,,

If only one spins, then it may have a loose connection on one of the motors.

Remove flywheel shroud to see your timing marks,they will be 90 degrees apart on face of flywheel.Use timing light on flywheel as you look directly at it from the side.when light flashes you should see the marks lined up with arrow at the center top of block breather cover.If you find that your timing is off there are only 2 things that it can be-FLYWHEEL KEY or the computer located at the rear of engine.I have only had 2 machines where the timing was off exactly 90 degrees and the computer had to be replaced both times.

Belt fitted too loose & or the tensioner pully is faulty!
Check all the pullys for alignment

there is no alternator on these toy gators!
the battery is in the front lower panel 7 should not be charged for more than 14 hours at any one charge!
Mabe the battery needs replacing!

the resistors on the battery & on the tbar shifter need checking!
also the battery may be no good or the wires are loose on the terminals at the motors [Usually are]

You need a forward/reverse switch, most likely.

Is this a Peg perego brand.
If it is, the charger is in the front behind the black grill.

This may have been solved already but here is the info if you need it.

There should be a green piston with a red handle behind the seat. Some of the models come with a automatic piston assembly. Mine did not come with one, but I found it here
