Peg perago ride on toy only one tire has power
Does both wheels make a grinding sound when you turn them by
hand. If so, then you might have a lose wire. But if it does not make
a noise then the motor is no good. Each tire on the rear of my grandson's gator has a motor . The tires are independent of each
other.

Sounds like the field winding in the motor or the circuit in the accelerator pedal in going 'open' from the heat caused by the drag on the motor while a child is riding it the Gator. Tap on the 'gas' pedal assembly while running the Gator on stands so the wheels don't touch the ground and you're not trying to follow it around while the child is driving. If that's the problem it probably won't start once it stops during the test. The circuit will go 'open' completely. The motor , on the other hand, is a little harder to diagnose since you need the 'drag' cause by the Gator hauling a weight around to cause the system to get warm from current draw and 'open' up any intermittent faults. I can't remember how tough it is to get to the motor itself since the grandkids have all gotten too big to use it now, but.. if you could keep it on stands and block the 'gas' pedal so it will run, you cah try heating the motor assembly up with a hair dryer to simulate the heat caused during normal operation. If it stops.. most likely the motor windings are going open. Good luck
