Error code se micro wave samsung?

Error code indicates a shorted membrane keypad switch. Manufacturer suggests you unplug the oven for an extended period of time to see if it will clear the code itself. If not, you may actually have a bad switch. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/david_29ad5d1dd86564b0

It displays SE and nothing works.

SE error means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

With your model number I can detail your options.

Samsung Over range Microwave

I have the same "SE" problem. After reading this thread here, I realise it's likely the keypad problem, which explains the microwave's behaviour (no key was working).

So there were two possibilities. (1)keypad failure and (2) bad connection.

Obviously the easiest thing I could start with is to clean the connection. So I first take the cover off. Behind the keypad is a circuit board. In addition to a few connections between the circuit board and other parts of the microwave, there is a ribbon connecting the keypad to the circuit board.

Loose the plastic on the connection, pull the ribbon out from the socket. I then used spirit to clean the exposed copper connections. Put every thing back to place.

Voila, it's working again and we have been living happily ever after.....

Setting display goes on se mode and will not function un less you un plug and reconect

The SE error code is pretty well documented on many forums. It usually occurs because the edge connector on the ribbon cable that connects the display to the circuit board has oxidized from steam that enters the cabinet between the display houseing and the cabinet itself. It will cost you a minimum of $100 to have a technician service it. Or you can do what he will do and take it apart and clean the connector then reassmble it. Unplug it before doing anything. 2 screws across the top of the vent panel need to compe out, then open the door and slide the vent panel about 1/2" and remove it. Remove the center and right screws on the bottom of the cabinet, below the door. Remove the single visible screw at the top of the display panel housing and slide it up and remove it. Carefully remove the edge connector of the ribbon cable and clean it with rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. Reassemble in reverse order of the above instructions. You can usually get 2-3 cleanings to work ok before that fix doesn't work and you have to replace the circuit board. When that happens, it's the same steps to get to the board, but you then need to remove all of the wiring connectors (pay attention to the color coding and the type of connector for reassembly), and take the whole display/board unit out. Remove the screws that hold the board in place and carefully lift the board out. Replace and reattach wires then reassemble. All it takes is a #2 Philips head screwdriver to do this job.

How do I get the cover off my Samsung over the stove microwave? Do I have to take it off the brackets?

It likely depends on the model. To access the circuit board behind the numeric display, do the following. On the SMH9187ST model (and probalby most models that have the numeric display to the right of the door), you remove the top vent guard that runs across the top front of the microwave. There are 2 screws holding it in. Open the door and then slide the panel 1/2" one direction then it will lift off. Remove the center and right screws on the bottom of the cabinet, directly under the door. Remove the single screw at the top of the numeric display and the display and circuit board will lift free of the cabinet. The connecting wires can each be removed as there is only place they will each attach to when it's time to reconnect. Some are color-coded, others have unique connectors. Samsung microwaves seem to have a high occurrence of the SE error code. This happens when the edge connector on the ribbon cable gets oxidized from steam that enters the cabinet through the seam at the numeric display and the cabinet itself. You can often remove and clean the edge connector with alcohol and buy some time but it will happen again. Replacing the circuit board is the next step after the cleanings stop working. Places like partsimple.com stock both the display and the board.

Partial keypad failure

Quite a common problem this. The keypad needs to be replaced. Very seldom but possible that there is an actual pcb fault, but most likely cause is the keypad itself
