ASUS Eee PC 900 Notebook - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Every time I turn on
Looks like your system was booting into the Grub bootloader, which by default pointed to Linux, or the Windows Bootloader if you chose that.
Now it can't find Linux partition so it's failing.
I think you need to uninstall Grub.
If you have an Windows CD (XP or Vista) and an external CD drive, change the bios to boot form CD first. Then ender repair mode.
I'm trying to take pictures
There should be software provided for the camera, check the list of programs in the start menu. Once you've found the software, there will be a utility for taking pictures and recording video. Usually the pictures are saved somewhere in my documents, but if you can't find them, there will be a setting somewhere in the webcam software that will tell you where they are being saved to. once you have the picture you want, open yahoo messenger, click 'messenger' in the top menu, then click 'my display image' and tell it where to find the image you want to use.
Capslock notification isn't showing at
Hi
To show these notifications, there is software utility should be installed to indicate that.
You can install the software utility from the drivers' CD, or download it from the manufacture's website.
Please, Tell us your results.

My EecPC 900HA is working
Honestly, this probably isn't fixable for any kind of reasonable cost. The netbook would have to be opened and have the entire touchpad assembly replaced, including the parts that actually do work. These days, with how these things are built, it would probably be difficult (and maybe even impossible) to actually change out the touchpad assembly.
Netbooks are, unfortunately, kind of designed to be throwaway devices.
Now, on the bright side, you could definitely get some more mileage out of your Eee by buying a cheap wireless mouse (roughly $20 USD or less), if you don't mind having the external device for control!
Hope this is helpful!
I do have a problem
have you reinstalled the video driver? if you've done that and it still does it, the screen on the laptop may be going bad or the lcd panel display cable inside the laptop is pinched or bad. if the laptop is under warranty you have to contact asus tech support. if you're out of warranty, I recommend taking the laptop to a local computer shop for diagnostics/service.
Cannot detect webcam
Hi,
Thank you for choosing FixYa. I think it would be better to isolate the problem first if its a Hardware or Software. First check the Device Manager if there is any Imaging Device on it. Click on Start->Control Panel->Device Manager. If there is no imaging device try to reinstall the driver for the webcam and if that doesn't work, I suggest try to reinstall the whole Operating System(OS), by reinstalling the OS it will tell if the webcam is detected, if not it means there is a problem with the Hardware.
Hope it helps you somehow.

Accidentally downloaded a 901a update on a Eee 900
Hi There and Welcome to Fixya.
For us to assist you better, I would suggest if you can expound the problem further. Here are my questions (and suggestions) :
- Does the system POST? - when you turn the computer on, do you see the black and gray letters (or the Asus) screen before you encounter the "light gray to black"?
- What Operating system are you using? (is it Windows 7?)
- Try to run 'system restore' in safe mode Here's how :
- Make sure that the computer is turned off and that your USB devices are removed (printer, flash disk) except for keyboard and mouse.
- Turn it back on and immediately hit the 'DEL' (some system it's 'F2) key repeatedly until you're in a different screen.
- Choose "Safe mode only" and press Enter
- Wait for it to go on safe mode
- Choose "Administrator"
- Wait for it to completely load
- (If you're using Win7), click on start button and type "system restore" then press Enter
- Click "next"
- Pick a date where everything was working fine then proceed on clicking "Next"
- Wait for the system restore to complete. System will restart when it's done.
If the above steps was of no help, then I strongly recommend for you to completely reinstall the Operating system for this computer. I have included the manufacturer's website if you need more information :
