Switch for right hand to left hand door

there is a little black jumper on two of three pins near the top of the circuit board. Set it on the right or left and center pins depending on left or right opening.

Why wont my lock move/? I can hear the motor moving but lock doesn't move

Try with your door open. Also be sure that you can operate it by hand. If not, the motor can't move it either. Facing the outside of the door, if the hinges are on the right, it's a right-hand door.

Does the green light flash all the time on my

Powerbolt is Beeping?

This is the relevant excerpt from the Powerbolt programming and troubleshooting instructions:

Why is my Powerbolt 1000 unit beeping?

To determine why your lock is beeping abnormally, please follow these steps:

Take out batteries and unplug powerstrip.
Let it sit for 1 minute, then put the batteries back in and wait another minute.
If it does not beep, the keypad needs to be replaced (17733-1).
If the unit continues to beep, the powerboard needs to be replaced (A17734-3,3 Powerboard 1470 brass finish; A17734-3,26D Powerboard 1470 satin chrome finish; A17734-3,5 Powerboard 1470 antique brass finish).

The complete page that I cut this from can be found by cutting and pasting this link into your browser search bar:

http://www.weiserlock.com/Support/Faq/50160000000HhhZAAS.aspx

Since you've already gone through the battery change, this suggests that you need to replace the appropriate Powerboard for your lock.
So this is the link to Weiser Customer Support Page:

http://www.weiserlock.com/en/CustomerService/ProductSupport/SupportContact.aspx

I suggest calling the appropriate toll-free number and having a conversation with a representative about this problem, first of all to confirm that you need the part before you go through the expense. Secondly, they will be able to get the correct part on order for you.

Good luck!

We bought a house with this lock and don't

To change your code:

1. Remove the inner cover plate from the lock.

2. Locate the small round reset button near the left side of the circuit board (Red or Black).

3. To program, press the reset button once, then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.

4. To enter a second code, follow the same procedures as in step 3, but this time press the reset button twice then enter your code.

hope this helps

I guess I need to purchase a new cap that goes over the pins. Mine is missing and my door unlocks when the lock button is pushed,

I have installed your Powerbolt, but when I push the Lock Button, it unlocks? What should I do?First remove the cover on the inside of the Powerbolt unit. On the right hand side under the batteries, you will notice that is says "Door Direction Jumper". If the cap is mounted on Prongs 1 & 2, carefully remove it and move it over so that it mounts Prongs 2 & 3. A is right handed, B is left handed. http://www.weiserlock.com/Support/Faq/50160000000HhmZAAS.aspx

Secondly, your lock may be new enough for you to talk them into warrantying it, and thirdly, they will be able to get the correct part on order for you.Be prepared to find the replacement costs to be expensive enough to warrant considering a new lock altogether. Personally, I've seen enough problems with the Powerbolt on this website to make me consider buying almost anything but! I think that Schlage makes a pretty good product.

I hve had the lock for 10 years & now the bolt will not engage or disengage when codes are entered. Gear spins but bolt does not react.

Weiser has a one year warranty against electronic malfunction and a lifetime warranty against mechanical and finish problems. Yours sounds like a mechanical problem. You can review their warranty and contact them for further assistance from this link:http://www.weiserlock.com/CustomerService/WarrantyInfo/Powerbolt.aspxGood luck!

Deadbolt not retracting properly what to do

If your lock is new and defective, you should have no problem getting a replacement. However, before you do, make sure of three things:Does the lock cycle properly with the door open but now when closed? If so, you are experiencing a mechanical bind between the door and the door jamb.Is the lock "handed" properly? There is a jumper located internal of the lock with three pins; the jumper is across two of them. This controls whether the lock is installed for use with a door whose hinges are at the right or left as you face it. ( right-hand or left-hand opening). You may need to move the jumper from across pins 1 & 2 to across pins 2 & 3 or vice versa because it may be "backwards" for the way you have it installed.Thirdly,I recommend that you go through the installation programming process, beginning with removing & reinstalling the batteries to assure they are installed correctly. You will find it here:http://www.weiserlock.com/PDFs/instructions/Electronics/Powerbolt.pdfA note about PDF files: If you cannot view a given file, you need to first install Adobe Reader. You can get the free download here:http://get.adobe.com/reader/If all else fails, you can contact at the number listed at the top of the instruction sheet. One final note: I have seen far more problems with the Powerbolt listed here than any other electronic lock. Just sayin'. Good luck!

The lock has started to work backwards....the code locks it and the lock button unlocks it. Changed the batteries....no help.e

Remove the cover. On the right hand side under the batteries you will notice that it says "Door Direction Jumper". If the jumper is located across prongs 1 & 2, move it to prongs 2 & 3, or vice versa. This controls the direction of the operation which makes the lock universal to doors with the hinges to the right or to the left.
