Coleman 2 Burner Propane Stove 5430E700 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Gas pressure is very low and quickly subsides then
Try the following:
Reinstall propane with fresh full propane canister. If problem persists then check tubing in stove for blockages. Make sure you open valve all the way for lighting.
If this doesn't work you may have a defective unit and need to replace it or send it for repair.

Why does my coleman stove regulator leak gas from
Its a safety feature of the regulator. The regulator is designed with a pressure release valve. This has happened to me twice: once with a carbon dioxide tank for my kegerator and once on my propane stove. In both cases I left the regulator (designed with a max pressure rating of X psi) attached to a full bottle in the sun. The heat caused the pressure to exceed the limit of the regulator and the release valve popped. A welding supply store may be able to reset/replace the mechanism but in my case I just bought a new regulator for about $15.
Do I need a regulator on my bulk tank for this
Please don't try to use this stove without a regulator. It is extremely unsafe, and not worth it. If you can't find a regulator cheap online (I couldnt find one for less than $30) - just buy a new one. You can find a whole new cookstove on sale for $20-30 at most outdoor stores like Big 5, Dicks, Walmart...good luck!

Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)
Flames shooting up from back of Coleman stove.
Buy a new one. do not attempt to use this one again. There could be a pin hole in the propane lines or just a small crack. If you can hear it then there's a problem.
However if you really want to fix this one try putting water on the propane lines and then putting on a new tank and opening the valve. DO NOT LIGHT THE STOVE. where there are bubbles there is your leak. When you find it seal it with a Flame retardent sealent or clamp the line. Also I believe Lowe's sells parts that may work. just find out which line is leaking and replace the whole line.
I highly recommend just buying a new one and destroying the old one. DO NOT just throw it away please. Some one out there will grab it and try and use it. They will find out the hard way and maybe get hurt badly themselves or hurt someone else. Just imagine the guy who grabs it and goes camping with his family. Him and his son start it up. the son is right next to the unit. The guy fires it up and boom the son gets burned. Is it just me or would you feel bad if you knew this guy. I have seen it first hand. trust me it sucks. A buddy of mine did this and his son was in hospital for 3 days. he said he will never do that again.
So for safety sake please just buy the new one. don't take unnessecary risks if you don't have too.
Need to fix regulator for coleman stove 5410708
Just where the regulator attaches to the burner there is a small nut that may be loose. If you look closely at this and turn the regulator (stove off and hose detached!) you may see the nut hat turns easily. Tighten it and make sure the regulator does not rotate too freely, but still turns to adjust when attached to the hose or the smaller gas cartridge, if using that. Test carefully after this.
Coleman hand rocker pump 2231 - seal is gone. Is there a way to repair? Are these still available?
For others, not the OP from ten years ago:
Search Amazon "JR Products 97025 Chrome Manual Water Faucet" and this might be the same mechanism and parts as your Coleman 2231 pump. I went to my local shop in Calgary (starts with an H and ends with obo's, fixya considers that word to be profanity so I can't use the name H*bo's) and they had them there for $39. I swapped the plunger, cork and cylinder from the new one into my Coleman 2231 and will keep the bits from the new one for possibly the other parts in it.
Need instructions for a col-1390 coleman tent?
The directions are on the actual tent bag. The trick to setting this tent up is to stake it down first. Then set up the center poles - you will need at least two people to do this. Once it is staked it will go up pretty fast.
