take the hammer and bolt out, clean them and oil them with paintball oil (no motor oil or WD-40) air tool oil also works, but besides paintball and air tool oil, never use anything else. the bolt is in the front of the marker, it is what pushes the paintball from the breach into the barrel. the hammer will be towards the back. its been years since i have touched a tac-5 easiest way to oil is just to put a few drops in the asa (where you attach the tank) and dry fire with the barrel off a dozen times. this will get the oil everywhere it needs to be. if you can take it apart and clean it i would still recommend that

The easiest and most likely solution is that you don't have the marker cocked. If you haven't done this, try cocking the marker and then screwing on your gas.

If you are using CO2 it may be affecting the system. With a gun down straight, you could draw liquid CO2 into the internals. A siphon tube can be installed in a CO2 tank to stop or manage this. If you have access to someone's air tank, try using HPA (high pressure air aka nitrogen). If it fires fine with air you have deducted that the CO2 is to blame. Simple. Switch to air. It's better for the gun anyway! Now if the air didnt change anything I would think a component of the response trigger system is to blame. I am not familiar with the response trigger( I use E-grips) but I would think that a part that may slide or move forward or bak when you lift the gun up would be to blame. Most local shops should be able to diagnose the problem. I did find an installation video by Tippmann on youtube.

A5 response kit installation

The pro-lite has a velocity adjustment screw that as you turn clockwise the speed would decrease and counterclockwise would increase your speed. I recommend using a radar in order to maintain the speed within field limits. I am attaching the schematic so you can find it easily.

There might be a couple of reasons for the malfunction. It is my experience that the upgrades made for Tippmann not always improve the performance of the guns, in fact they may cause problems like the one mentioned. I would try to switching your set up back to see if the problem continues and if it does make sure you have a fully loaded tank and that the internals on your cyclone are functioning correctly.

Some trigger upgrades do not work well with Tippmann guns specially with the E-trigger. I will exchange one upgrade at the time for elimination in order to find out which is causing the problem.

The A5 standard is a pretty compact gun depending on the place of the leak I could assist you better. In any case you best chance is to check for leaks in the o-rings at the CO2 bottle, at the regulator.

The holster should have 2 straps to put around your leg with quick disconnects and a loop hole for any kind of belt you want to use.

On the A5 the hopper or Cyclone feed is powered thru a small tube on the feeder side
of the gun. Make sure that tube is connected and if so, pull it off and see if air is flowing
thru it when you pull the trigger. If not, the internal passage may be blocked. Tear down
the gun and clean out the obstruction. If there is a pulse of air coming out the tube when firing
then it may be the Cyclone feed mechanism. Just unscrew the 3 phillips head bolts
under the Cyclone and observe the air driven gear drive. Air up the marker and see
what is moving or not moving. Complete replacement upgrade Cyclone gear drives
are available that say they increase performance if you cant get it moving.

If you are using CO2 switch to air. Also make sure the velocity adjuster isnt running

There is an O-ring up in where the Tombstone slides in. That O-ring has to be lubed (oiled)
and should be toward the rear of the gun when installing the Tombstone. Also, drop-off
in firing can be caused by lack of lube on the internal O-rings. 2 drops of oil in the inlet hole
where your bottle screws on and then dry firing to cycle the oil thru might help. You may need
to completely tear down the gun and clean and lube the internal O-rings. If you can switch to
air AKA...HPA (High Pressure Air) it will be better for internal parts and better consistency overall.

Make sure when reassembled the pin that the solenoid kicks upward to release
the trigger/hammer junction, isnt jammed in the parts. It is easy to pinch that rod
when reassembling. I installed an On/Off switch at the bottom of my trigger handle.
You can find help with A-5's at this A-5 owners group forum. Look for my photos of
the install if you decide you'd like to try it. It makes assembling the gun easy as there
is no power to accidentally fire the pin making it jump out of it's alignment groves.

Sounds like the gun needs lube. Oil it and try again. 2-3 drops of oil in the hole
where the tank screws on then put the tank back on. Fire it and see how it does.
I havent heard of a low pressure kit for the A-5 but I think it is a waste. There is a rule
with pressure and paintball guns. Low pressure=high volume of air used.
Standard pressure=regular volume. I have 2 a-5's with e-grips and flatlines.
I polished the internals by sanding the bore of the tube (use fine sandpapaer) and
this makes the velocity very consistent.
One thing that comes to mind is that the hammer may not be getting caught on the
trigger latch. Makes sure your gun is assembled correctly. here is your manual.

Have you chrono'd the gun? This test velocity. This makes no sense unless your
gun is actually shooting VERY slow. In that case the way the flatline works, the ball rolls thru the barrel,
would really slow down a ball passing thru. That is my bet, low velocity. I use the same gun.
Adjust your allen screw in to make more pressure and try the flatline. Man I love the flatline with
an e-grip. Scares the **** outta the long distance players!
