No spark wont start

I just replaced the coil and regrounded the grounding clip on my 1995 Kawasaki Bayou 400 ATV. It ran for about 5 minutes and now I have no spark again. Tried to replace the spark plug but that didn't solve the problem. Where can I look because it seems like an electrical problem.

Thanks Nick

removing er-6n seat

i have bought a kawasaki er-6n and have missed placed the manuals, may sound stupid but need help on removing the seat. someone help

I assume the help you need is simply, that you can't remove the seat. They are a little awkward. But you need to insert the key, twist it, sadly it's spring loaded so you'll need to keep one hand on thae key. Then you need to push the seat back, quite hard, a good punch will do. Then simply lift it up and away from the front of the bike.

Hope that helps.

PS the spot to insert the key is on the stand side under the seat, bend down have a look.

POPPING THROUGH EXAUST

I HAVE A 2005 BRUTE FORCE . IT STARTED POPPING THROUGH EXHAUST. TOOK TO SHOP AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A VALVE ADJ. 131 HRS. AT TIME OF ADJ. PAID FOR ADJ. AND RODE ABOUT 3-4 TIMES. If it didn't pop after the valve adjustment, try adjusting the valves again.
Popping out the exhaust usually indicates a burned exhaust valve. The valve doesn't seat all the way around and air/fuel mixture is getting into the exhaust header on the compression stroke and igniting from header heat. The reason this doesn't happen at higher rpms is the amount of time for the air/fuel to leak it really short.

I have a 14 HP Kawasaki engine on my John Deere

I have a 14 HP Kawasaki engine on my John Deere lawn mower (LX176). I have no spark.I'm guessing coil but unsure of how to test it. I get readings through the windings with an OHM meter but I don't know what it should read. I wish I had a wiring diagram for the lawn mower to better analize the trouble. Suggestions?

All the "safety" engine-kill "features" on this mower will ground the ignition system, stopping the engine and causing a no-spark condition. Check the seat switch, the brake switch. Also, the circuit board will cause the problem you have if it gets rained on, (the mower hood does not protect it); point is do not let the mower get rained on (or washed) unless you protect the PC board, which is right behind the ignition switch. Mine dried out and worked again but only after liberal spraying with (plastic-safe) electronic parts cleaner. You are right the manual would help, it's like $76 but it's in depth. Good luck, and PLEASE tell us what the solution was! -Tom

Helpful Deere lx176, lx178, hood hinge tip: If the hood hinge is broken on yours like on most, Deere has a GREAT repair kit that's only $10. They really priced it at cost or less to correct a defect they are aware of.
