make sure that the feeder spring is not broken this stops nails or can jam them or cause them to skip. Some nail gun types work bette if you buy their brand of nails, but it could possibly just be dirty or maybe check the nail size. You should also have a way to adjust how far your nails are in the bucket where you put your nails, it should go up or down by spining it.

Top seal on the top of the Cilinder is not fitting to tight. or broken if you can turn it it has stuck motionless tight

I have seen this on dewalt nailers also, caused by trigger valve worn. on Bostitch nailer part # tva6 remove roll pins retaining trigger and trigger valve. one roll pin for trigger and one or two for valve. With pins removed apply air pressure to gun popping out the valve. Use glove or folded-up shop rag to catch the valve as I pops out. Be sure to reduce air pressure as it could come out with force. Ez test. With nails removed, and door open driver should be at top of cylinder. If driver is down replace piston oring. If driver is up, lightly strike nose of gun against softwood. The driver should stay at top. If driver drops with light tap replace piston oring. If driver stays at top dry fire the nailer against softwood. The driver should hit the softwood leaving a mark and return to top. If driver stays down or does not travel all the way up pull the cylinder and make sure checkband is installed. Checkband is oring or rubber band covering series of holes on lower part of cylinder. Good luck

prolly clogged, buy a rebuild kit and use it making sure all parts are totally clean before reassembly. in the future be sure to drain your compressor at least daily after use (more on wet or humid days) to avoid this

That model may not be designed for that length nail. Check with your local supplier.

Try to locate a "rebuild kit" from a parts store or online. When you locate one, ask if it includes the complete instructions to install the kit. I have rebuilt several dozen, and kits have an instruction sheet. Be blessed.

Dewalt nailers use some orings that are made of vinyl (clear to yellow in color instead of buna or viton). These orings fail by getting soft and sticky. The gun may not leak but will not work correctly. The trigger should fire the gun when depressed about 1/2 way in. The oring repair kit has the same orings. I use generic orings in the gun to solve the problem. There are two orings inside the gun that should be changed and at least two on the trigger valve stem. In time the gun may fire a nail when you connect the hose. Check the internet for recall on some of these guns. The orings in the gun that should be replace make contact between the white cylinder spacer and the cylinder (smaller is standard oring # 141 the larger is 74.4mm x 3.1mm). The two rings on the trigger stem are 2mm x 1.5mm . If you do not have a source for orings then just replace the trigger valve. You also might try setting the depth adjustment all the way down. There is a small piston on the side of the magazine that pushes the feeding claw which pushes the next nail into place. Either the feeding claw or piston is stuck or the piston is worn out and needs to be replaced.

Arrow on the Rn45 lower bumper points toward the driver, however don't worry too much about it, because it will work either way. There is a sharper edge on the lower side of the bumper that helps to hold down the driver guide. The top side of the bumper has a more rounded inner edge so the driver will not chew it up. Most important is that the bumper is not cracked or missing pieces. Piston may not return to top if bumper is not complete. Good luck with your projects.

Nail jamming is caused when the driver is able to hit two nails with one stroke. This usually happens on nailers that use nail strips with no spacing between nails. If the driver is damaged, it may be able to hit part of the second nail. If the wrong nail is used and two nail heads are in the path of the driver then jam. On nailers using nailstrip with space between nails, it is much harder for driver to hit two nails. Most jamming, however is caused by the nailer actually firing twice in very rapid succession. this type of jam is caused by faulty firing mech. (safety foot or bump fire system) , faulty/worn trigger valve or worn orings in the headvalve .

Usually miss feed happens when the driver does not return to top position not allowing the nails to feed into position. Easy to check, point nose of nailer up then down again to see if the driver is loose in the cylinder. If loose, the driver will be in the down position when the side door is opened. If driver is down, replace driver oring. If driver oring is good, look for spring tension on feeder and check feeder spring on the door side. If piston oring good and feeders have good spring tension, suspect lower bumper cracked(remove head and piston to check bumper).
On gun with depressor (safty foot) not actuating trigger, look for worn trigger (trigger inner lever could be worn) or loose or worn firing pin in the trigger valve above the trigger(valve # tva6). Replace as needed. To check for proper gun action, remove the nails, remove the 3mm roll pin holding trigger and dry fire the gun by depressing the tigger pin. Good luck

I would think an o ring kit and a good cleaning to remove the asphalt.

Many Bostitch nailers use the tva6 trigger valve or similar. There are two ways to remove the valve. Both methods require the removal of the trigger first. Use a 3mm roll pin driver tool to remove the pin holding the trigger (some nailers have a 3m bolt w/nut or pin with rubber retainer) to expose the tva6 valve. Remove two 3mm roll pins in the body holding the tva6 valve noting the length of the roll pins. Remove the head and push out the valve, or, using heavy glove catch the valve as you connect air supply. Use caution if you choose to catch the valve because it could come out with force (use lower pressure than you would normally use when nailing). When the valve pops out, note the position of the valve in relation to the roll pins (notch on valve where roll pins catch). When you insert the new valve align the valve with notches in the proper position and use the 3mm driver tool to align and hold valve for test. Before you insert the new valve make sure that there are no sharp edges or grit in the port. Good luck with your repair.
