If you are able...have someone do a compression check on the engine. Usually if a mower is loosing power and it is a twin cylinder engine, one of the headgaskets may be blown.

Your question is mighty broad, but I would start at the battery, making sure you have a fully charged battery. Sit in the seat and push the brake pedal down. Make sure the blade engagement clutch is off or the lever to move the deck up and down is in the up position. Unless a safety switch is defective, the mower should start. If you just hear a click, you have a dead battery or loose wire. Until you get more specific, this is the best I can do.

You don't have to drop the deck.

if its in the way yes, it makes it easier but make sure its empty and u have a way to put it back on, then u should see the lever hope this helps, jamie.

theres a bracket that swings under the deck pull on it to see that it tightens the belt, there should be a little hole on th bracket it self u have to look hardbut its there hook the spring up and try it out, hope this helps

There is one bolt in center of pto clutch. Its best to have an impact to remove this. If you try to remove with a wrench engine will spin. Remove both belts first. Then simply unplug the PTO, Use impact wrench and remove center bolt and gently pry off. Installation is the reverse order. recheck the routingbe sure spring lever is engaged ( LEVER on the left side of deck)disegage then reroute belt re-engage belt tension lever

maybe you mean it doesnt run smooth at high speed.that sounds like bad gas ,dirty carb, dirty air filter

check to be sure transaaxle is engaged.look in the back of mower for a lever and diagrams of how to use
