Can't remove nut from steering con nector
Soak the bolt and shaft should be soaked with penetrating oil for several days. Then try again. As a last resort you may heat it up with a torch. Be very careful since there are fuel lines and gas fumes. Using the torch can be dangerous.
What kinda of oil do i use for my lawnmower
Two choices I'd recommend if you change your oil faithfully than you can use a SAE 30 weight oil. A lot of manufacturers will recommend using the newer version of oil that doesn't break down as quick where as a lawn mower motor runs at such high temperatures due to being an air cooled engine. Most auto supply stores or lawn and garden dealers will carry the longer life based oil, but personally I prefer to stay with what has worked for me for many years. Preventative maintenance , (Faithfully) for me means every spring. Good Luck
What are common causes of flywheel key breakage?
Incorrect valve adjustment, especially on OHV motors that causes a backfire can cause the sheer pin to break. Obviously this saves the motor from worse damage. Also, sudden stops caused by hitting something like a log or stump with engaged blades have broken the pins before. On an older motor I had one sheer because the piston rod was a little loose off the crank and the slop was causing the motor to bind. Obviously this did internal damage but the sheer momentum of the motor spinning a heavy flywheel no suddenly stopping broke the pin. Lastly, the magnets on the flywheel could be hitting the coil pack, binding up causing the pin to snap. Be sure to check if the space is gapped correctly. And don't buy cheap pins or generic pins. There should be no slop whatsoever. You almost have to pound it into the slot. Slop equals a much high ER chance of breaking for no reason at all. Loss of power when blades engaded.
Remove deck belt from blade pulleys and Tri to spin blades by hand. If they don't spin freely, you probably need new spindle bearings but if you do need a new spindle I would replace the whole spindle housing... Just make sure the one (s) you buy has housing, spindle, bearings, nut and washer.
Blowing fuses?
You likely have a short in a wire somewhere. Check for a pinched wire or bare wiring. A fuse is to protect against too much current that could damage other components. So to have too much current, there is likely a ground somewhere. Sounds like it comes and goes, so I'd look at the loose wiring first.
Engine stalls when blade is engaged
the best way to check is to run the engine with you on it then lift off the seat and see if the seat sensor is cutting off then put a bag with some weight in it and turn on the engine it should run ok if the sensor is working and lift the back box to see if the sensor works there.. the other cause could be a build up of grass in teh cutter area stopping the blades fron moving this can caus a stall if you get a hose and blast under the cutter guards and make shure the grass shute is clear for the grass to exit this may help to mine cuts out if there is a blockage here and the grass cant get out after it has been cut it builds up at the exit plates.. Hope this works AB
