Faucet is leaking

Hi Cindy you don't say where it leaking from so: If you have a dripping that won't completely turn off then the stem washer needs replacing. If it is leaking at the handle then the "O" ring is bad. I suggest you just replace both. Under your sink turn off the two water supply knobs remove the handle. Either a screw on top or and allen screw under and on the side then pry up. this maybe hard so wiggle it. now take a crescent wrench and unscrew the stem you see a washer screwed to the bottom. Most likely a "OO" size and a rubber "O" ring around the stem. Take it the stem to your hardware store and have the give you a repair kit. very cheap replace both and reinstall. I it has 2 handles do both sides Its easy. Hope this helps Mike

Moen kitchen faucet model 7430 leak

cartridge does not stop that type of leak. If it is leaking from around the base of the spout it is o-rings that are the problem that are onthe valve after you pull the spout all the way off.

Why did my moen faucet stop working? I have water

Rubber gasket on the water shut off valve under the sink has come off and traveled up into the faucet. It's pretty difficult to get it out. If you have access to an air compressor you may get lucky by taking the faucet completely off the sink and blowing air back from the faucet outlet back into the internal piping to dislodge the rubber piece. If that doesn't work, or you can't use the air compressor method, then it's a trip to the hardware store for a new faucet.

Why do my faucets leak when I turn my sprinklers

THERE TWO CAUSES THAT I KNOW OF: 1. YOUR FAUCETS ARE PRESSURE SEALING MEANING: THEY NEED A MINIMUM PRESSURE TO SEAL MOST LIKELY 25psi, YOUR SPRINKLER SYSTEM IS STARVING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM OF PRESSURE WHICH ALLOWS YOUR FAUCETS TO LOOSE THEIR SEAL. SOLUTION:REPLACE FAUCETS WITH SPRING SEAT SEALING FAUCETS. 2. YOU HAVE A WATER LEAK IN YOUR MAIN WATER LINE AND THE FAUCETS ARE LEAKING AIR BACK INTO THE MAIN LINE WHEN THE SPRINKLERS ARE OFF AND WATER INTO THE SINK WHEN THE SPRINKLERS ARE ON... THIS SCENARIO IS UNLIKELY AND YOU WOULD HAVE OTHER PROBLEMS SUCH AS AIR IN THE LINES AND THE FAUCETS WOULD LEAK WHEN YOU TURNED ON THE SHOWER AS WELL AS THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM.

I am having a leak

Three years ago, I installed a Moen kitchen faucet with sprayerin one of my rental units. Moen twice sent replacement Hydrolock kits, as I couldn't get them to seal. While waiting for the Moen parts to arrive, I used a short length of heater hose purchased at AutoZone, held on by two small hose clamps. After all three Hydrolocks had failed to seal, I just left the heater hose in place. Three years and no problems. ..and no more Moens, either.

Hot water turn off valve under sink is dripping -

Those valves are usualy cheap and just wear out. It will most likely need to be replaced, but first you can simply try turning it on slightly tighter then it is. Those valves usually only seal when turned all the way on or off, not somewhere in between. If this does not work however it will need to be replaced.

If the valve is threaded on to the main pipe then this will be fairly easy, as all you would need to do is turn off the main house water, open the sink faucet to release the pressure, disconect the faucet line going to the leaky valve using a wrench. Once this is done you would unscrew the leaky valve from the supply pipe and replace with a new one. Don't forget to use teflon tape on the threads of the supply pipe before replacing with a new valve. If it is a soldered valve however this would require a bit more work and expertise.

I changed the stem on hot water because shower

I am not sure what brand of shower valve you have but it sounds like you lost a peice of rubber or plastic in the valve and it has either lodged in the diverter or somwhere from the valve to the shower head. Is it posible that you got the wrong stem or switched stems or maybe it was put in backwards. Wish i could narrow it down for you,Need better info.

I cant stop my Moen single lever kitchen faucet

1. If it's "leaking" from the body then, the O-Rings between the body of the faucet got gunked up with minerals from your water. This interferes with the seal.
The answer is to take some grit cloth/very fine sandpaper and clean the inside of the spout body. Wipe clean. I would also suggest replacing the O-Rings on the faucet body, but at the very least wipe the O-rings and faucet body clean.
THEN: lubricate the inside of the spout body AND the O-Rings with silicone grease. It's translucent and readily available and the only thing I would ever use for a faucet repair. NOT plumber's grease, NOT WD-40.
Reassemble and enjoy.

2. If it's dripping, the you need a new cartridge. You can get them for FREE from the hardware store if you have the old cartridge to trade them. The problem is that Moen cartridges are water-sealed into place and you need a special tool to break that water seal. The special tool (just a tiny piece of specifically shaped plastic, really) comes, you guessed it - with the new cartridge.
Two possible solutions: a) bite the bullet and just buy the cartridge (~$25) or buy a Moen cartridge puller, usually available from the hardware store as well for about the same price. Ask, they might even lend you one.
The point of whichever tool you end up with is to rotate the cartridge itself inside the faucet body to break the water seal so that you can pull it out with a set of pliers. There will be a retaining clip to pull out as well.
