Wm1814cw front load washer . LE code not spinning

Hi.

The LE code means SUDS, or excessive detergent detected. The code indicates that there is a blockage problem because of excessive detergent.

Try disconnecting power and running a spin speed or dry only cycle a couple of times after connecting back.

If that is not enough you will need to access drain filter and check for blockage. You may also need to reach the pressure switch located in control assembly and to clean up the long rubber hose connected to pressure switch and going inside the tub.

Start disconnecting power and running a spin only or dry only cycle. Once problem is fixed check that the detergent you are using responds to specifications on user manual and check that the amount of detergent used in cycle is correct.

If you need parts see this tip explaining how to find parts and diagrams for most appliances: Where do I find parts and diagrams for my appliance?

Regards.

I have an LG WM1814CW.

Hi

If the washer overflows you'll need to check for the water inlet hose, the water inlet valve and the pressure/water level switch assembly. Inspect the inlet hose coming to the washer for any blockages. If the hose is not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, if the water will not even fill or is doing what it is doing right now then certainly the water inlet valve is bad and should be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to check continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. However, if the valve is fine then the pressure/water level switch assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Hi.

If the model is WM1814CW, then the drain filter is located behind the small door located at the left hand corner at the bottom of the appliance's front side.

Drum will not spin in any cycle

Hi

One of the most common problems with washing machines, however, is that they won't spin. Usually this is caused by an issue that easily can be fixed, but other times it can be more serious. In some cases, just the balance of the load can cause the machine not to spin. For that reposition the clothes. Close the lid and retry. The washer may not spin at all if the tub is unbalanced. Check the lid switch for wear. Replace a worn lid switch by first using a screwdriver to remove the top of the machine. Remove the cabinet holding the old switch in place by unscrewing the two console screws, tilting the console back, removing cabinet clips, and unlocking the lid switch block. Unscrew the mounting screws, and disconnect the ground wires before removing the old switch. Insert the new switch in its place. Then check for lose or worn or crack in belt. If these signs appear, remove the old belt by tipping the washing machine over on its side, and unscrew the clamps securing the pump coupling with a screwdriver. Place the new belt over the transmission pulley, and then over the motor pulley's nearest edge, slowly turning the motor pulley to pull the belt around and into the pulley. Replace the washer's motor by firmly grasping on the metal slip-on connectors holding the wires in place, allowing you to pull the connectors apart. Use a screwdriver to unscrew all of the screws holding the motor in place, and remove the old motor. Insert the new motor in its place. Secure the new motor to the machine with screws, and reconnect the motor's wiring harness.

Replace the washer's pump by removing the service panel on the back of the machine with a screwdriver and disconnecting the washing machine drain line and the rubber pump outlet hose. Remove the fasteners holding the pump to the bottom of the machine, along with the drive belt from the pulley below the pump. Replace the old pump with a new one, and reinstall the drive belt back on the pulley, reinsert the fasteners and reconnect the rubber pump inlet and discharge lines.

So there are various conditions when a washing machine wont spin. Please check this link to get a detailed idea related to your problem:-

THE SCREEN SHOWS IE

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
An IE error code will appear if the washer has not filled with water in approximately 8 minutes. If an IE error code appears on the washer, check to make sure both hot and cold-water taps are open completely. After both valves have been opened, unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.
There are filters on the inlet hose connections of the washing machine. They are intended to filter away mineral deposits from hard water and other debris from getting into the unit. If clogged, water will not flow through these filters into the washer. Turn off both the hot and cold water taps, disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the washing machine, and clean the inlet filters gently but thoroughly.
If the inlet hoses are not attached to the machine correctly, it will prevent proper water flow to the washer. Turn off the hot and cold water supply then disconnect and reconnect the inlet hoses. Ensure that they are threaded properly. After the hoses have been reconnected, open the water taps completely, check for leaks, and unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.
And finely if all of this does not work then the inlet valve on the machine needs to be replaced ok?
Hope this all helps

Unit starts, fills, you can

IF you are lucky, the spline of the motor rotor has stripped out. It is an easy repair (about a 2 on a 1-10 difficulty scale), and the part carries a 5 year warranty (minimum, up to 10 years on newer models) Remove back cover, unscrew bolt at center of motor, pull rotor off. If spline is stripped from rotor, replace rotor and you're done. IF SPLINE IS NOT STRIPPED ....... Oh s***! The drive shaft has broken loose from the three arms which attach it to the drum. (the part is called the "spider") To repair, remove bolt on end of shaft at center of motor. You may have to cut it with an angle grinder, but don't worry about that, because the shaft has to be replaced anyway. Remove motor rotor and stator. Remove washer front, drain hose, fill hose, shock absorbers, support springs, all wires attached to outer drum, and eventually the entire outer drum. Remove bolts between front and back halves of outer tub to allow removal of inner drum. Remove 6 bolts holding 3 arms of spider to back of inner drum. Re-assemble with new spider and new bolt for end of shaft. If you can do it in under two hours, give yourself a big pat on the back. This is about a 9.5 on a 1 - 10 difficulty scale for repairs on this washer.

My washer has an LE

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

'LE' stands for Lock Error. There is likely to be a problem with either the door solenoid/lock or the 'door closed' sensor when there is vibration/movement from the drum turning, requiring a service engineer's attention I suggest ;-0(

If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My LG washing machine is making an awful sound

Most likely the rear seal has failed and thus water made it into the rear drum bearings. Bad news. You can generally confirm this by removing the rear access cover to see if there is sign of water leakage from the center of the drum in back. (rusty stains on the motor or actual water drips there) If so, rear bearing replacement and a new "spider" could run over $500. If no sign of water leakage, possibly only the inner spline of the motor rotor stripped out, which is an easy and MUCH less costly repair. (rotor carries at least a 5 year part warranty too. Newer models cover it up to 10 years)

I have a LG WM1814CW washer that has started

You may have a problem with the ball sensor. Look in the back of the washer. On the right side as you're looking at the rear, does the frame look slightly dented in?? If so, you will need to pound out the metal. The reason is that the ball sensor is located on the lower right side of the back panel and if it is pushed in enough, the spinning movement from the tub will knock the ball sensor causing the control board to display UE error code. Good luck
