Jazzy 1170 powerchair veers to the right appears break may be coming on . how to fix

Hi Rob....I had the same problem with my 1170. Your problem is probably worn motor brushes. Replacing the brushes will most likely fix your problem.

Unlock the controller

Locking/Unlocking the VSI The VSI has a feature that enables you to lock your powericon1.png chair to prevent unauthorized use. To lock the VSI: 1. With the VSI switched on, press and hold the on/off key. After 1 second, the VSI should beep. 2. Release the on/off key. 3. Push the joystick to the full forward position until the VSI beeps. 4. Pull the joystick to the full rearward position until the VSI beeps. 5. Release the joystick. There should be a long beep. 6. The VSI is now locked. To unlock the VSI: 1. Press the on/off key and power on the VSI. The maximum speedicon1.png/profile indicator should ripple up and down. 2. Push the joystick to the full forward position until the VSI beeps. 3. Pull the joystick to the full rearward position until the VSI beeps. 4. Release the joystick. There should be a long beep. 5. The VSI is now unlocked.

Jazzy 1170 2002 dont know if batteries r charging led 3 red 3green plug unit in overnight 13 plus hrs been charging using 12 volt battery charger 13 volt reading per battery unsure on board battery

Should use proper 24 volt 2-4 amp off-board charger. A 3 red, 3 green flash code on a VSI/Remote Plus controller indicates high battery voltage.

My jazzy 1170xl plus won't move. When I power it on the lights come on like there supposed to but as soon as I move the joystick the battery level lights start to flash rapidly. 9 of the 10 lights

Code 9: brake fault. Check motor connections and make sure that the levers are in the engaged position - if you can roll the chair the gearbox is not engaged.

Problems at powerup

Code 7: joystick problem. Be sure joystick is in center position when you power up. If rubber boot is worn out, replace it or repair it so that stick is in center position. Always check connections.

Two red flashing led lights

The 2 flashing red lights indicate a low battery. Did you have the batteries replaced? and did you have the charger checked? The charger could not be giving you a full charge or you didn't charge the batteries correctly. It takes about 9-10 charges to bring the batteries to 100% operating capacity. Always charge the batteries before using after installing new ones and then charge nightly when you sleep. When you get up in the morning the batteries should be fully charged and last all day. Never charge more than 12 hours and always store or put up fully charged Hope this helps and sorry that no one can seem to help you except spend your money needlessly

CONTROLLER LIGHTS UP OK AT START. BUT IF U MOVE

I think you might have a joystick fault but first make sure that the chair is not in freewheel. If the chair is not in freewheel then you have a joystick problem and it will have to be replaced Hope this helps
