it could be the thermostat is not switching them on, try changing the settings on them, if it still dont work you may need new thermostats fitted,

Your unit is NOT frost free according to the specs so it will required periodic defrosting to keep the ice build up from affecting the fan.

If you can find the nameplate on the unit with Model and serial number, there should also be a rating for amperage draw, multiply that number by 120 to get watts. I f this is a compact unit it probably uses 1.5 to 3 amps

There is a self timer for auto defrosting in the no frost model. There could be possible fault in this setup. Also your thermostat could be another culprit. You will need to call a service technician to give an second opinion but keep these views in mind. Never try to do any work which could be expensive to already a wrong choice of buying a used set w/o warranty. Finally keep your thermostat in diffferent modes and check out for any differance in the fault. Hope my advice is helpful. Good Day.

If you poked a hole in the cooling tube and the freon came out, you'll have to call a qualified tech to repair the hole and recharge the system.

If it's just a hole in the wall or something you can just plug it up with anything to prevent air leaking.
