Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

You will need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner. Make sure the small screen is free of debris.(Should be able to see day light through it.) Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals canbecome blocked. Reassemble and start.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Hello:

Remove the Muffler and Look into the Exhaust Port.
If the Piston has Scratches or Gouges, then the Engine is Trashed and will have to be Replaced.
A New Unit is Usually Cheaper than Buying the Replacement Parts.
You can View a Breakdown of this Unit at the Following Site Addy.

Hope this Helps.

Good Luck

If the either burned, then you have a fuel problem. Make sure the fuel filter (in the tank) and the lines are all clear. If so, then you my need to rebiud the carburator.

If you want to try and do it yourself?

Remove all the old stale fuel
Remove, strip and clean the carburetor
Remove the spark plug and replace with a new one
Refill with fresh fuel
Start your engines :>)

Or get it serviced locally

This is because one of the blade connecting rods in the gearbox is no longer connected to one of the blades, this will require opening the gearbox cover to assess what has come adrift.

On this model the brake must be ON and PTO OFF for engine to crank.

Turning ignition switch to start position connects battery to the ignition switch "S" pole, then goes through the brake switch then through the PTO switch to the starter solenoid.

First check the being fuel needle in the carb. It might not be seating properly. It may have a groove worn in it. Depending it's age. Or it could be a dirty float bowl housing or a leaking float bowl.

Remove the belt and check that each pulley spins freely, grease your spindles, sometimes only accessible from underneath the deck. Check that nothing is wrapped around the spindles under the blades. Your belt tensioner spring could be worn out, assuming you have the correct belt installed.

4 stroke uses motor oil in the sump. 2 stroke uses oil and fuel mix. Read your user manual!
