How to clean the carburetor on a ys4500 model?
fist of all you need to know what you are doing when dealing with gas issues not worth playing with gas if you are not famliar with gas equipment play it safe and take it to a dealer or repair shop
Where is the fuse located on model 917.276882
The manuals state "located behind the dash" but usually can't be seen unless you remove the gas tank. The fuse is usually located on the right side of the mower, against the side wall, halfway down, & either halfway between the dash & the engine, or closer to the engine. The easiest way to find it is to remove the gas tank.
Where is the spark plug located on my craftsman lawn tractor model 917.273360
James, it is at the front of the engine. It is next to the 4" by6" metal cover that says OHV. It is on the right hand side ( sitting on the tractor), There is a black wire the size of a pencil ( diameter ), hooked to it. It is set deep in the engines cylinder head. There is a rubber boot over the end of the spark plug. Remove the rubber boot, you will hace to grip it hard and pull it off. Then you will be able to remove it, using a deep 5/8" socket with a 4 to 6 inch extension.Hope this helps, if you need more let me know. Matt If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

Deck is not level and mower blades are not the
Usually you can solve this problem by leveling the deck. Many mowers have adjustment nuts on the ends of the brackets that attach the mower deck to the frame of the mower. First park your mower on a flat surface like a sidewalk or driveway. Then place a small level on a flat area of the mower deck, then turn the adjustment nuts until the deck is level.
Took electric fuel pump off great dane mower and
Try clipping a volt meter on the 12v supply wire to the pump, switch ignition on, and wiggling the wire carefully, moving along its length to look for a break inside the insulation. If you find one you can cut it there, strip the wire, and join on a good piece of wire.
If you want to test the original pump operates you could run a jumper lead from the battery to the pump's positive terminal and see if it pumps. It should be able to pull the fuel up on its own, no problems, unless the fuel filter is blocked.
No forward or reverse
have you checked the belt, when the drive belt slips off one of the pulleys, which will happen more and more often till the belt has bean replaced. thats a place to start.
is the belt engaging the transmition and the engine?
