Can't get the playerto play the chapters in order

You have to delete the affected Audiobooks off the player, then go into Windows Media Player, right-click one chapter at a time, select "Advanced Tag Editor" and manually assign a track number to each chapter -in order.
Then you can reload the audiobook onto the GoGear.

PLAY VIDEOS ON THE MP3 PLAYER
Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses.
Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX.
If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses.
There are commercial and freeware video converters on the Internet. Use Google to search for Video converters. I found these converters useful, Kate’s Video converter, Any Video converter and CI Video Converter.
I suggest you try some freeware types first and convert a video file, then test this converted video file on your MP3 player.
To copy/download your video files to your MP3 player, connect the USB cable from the MP3 player to the USB port on the computer. Open the video folder on the MP3 player and copy and paste the video file/s from the computer to the video folder on the MP3 player.

I have gogear mp3 player of model sa3205/97

Reset the player

If that fails:
Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager:
www.usasupport.philips.com - change your country/language as needed
Enter in your exact model #
Click on the link for your exact model #
Click on the Software & Drivers section
Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software"
Install the new Device Manager
Open and run the "Repair" tab

If still nothing:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

If these methods fail, call Philips to see if you are still in-warranty.

Not able to update firmware.in

Hi selvanpradee,

I would suggest attempting a Repair by following the below instructions. This process simultaneously updates firmware as well as returns your product to factory settings. Let me know if this helps by rating/commenting this solution!

You can also access the Product Support site here:

Your player might hang up. Use a pen tip or other sharp object to insert the RESET hole gently on the side of the player and connect it again to your PC.
If it is still not recognized, your player may be at fault. Try the Philips Device Manager software.

NOTE: Contents will be removed by using the repair function.
  1. Install the Philips Device Manager and run it with your player connected to your PC. You can download it under the Software & drivers section.
  2. Click the Repair tab in the Device Manager, press and hold the corresponding recovery key on the player when connecting it to your PC.
