I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.Answers to issues:1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.

Be sure when you try this to look in the set menu first and THEN IF USING A CABLE OR SAT BOX FOR SIGNAL look there also as almost all modern boxes have SAP feature as well.Issue can be either in set (seems not to be) or a BOX.SD TECH

I have had the same problem for a couple of Months . Bought my lg in March 2009, just had it diagnosed as the Screen . Apparently they are not Lg screens but a version called AUO optrix . my tv is a non economical repair and i am waiting for Currys to get back to me . let me know if i can be of any help. Please try to open the back cover and look for the power supply board..(it is usually found directly connected to the power cord)..Then check the condition of capacitors on the power supply visually..If it is look like leak or bulged try to replace it to fix your TV..

HelloThese are the two boards under suspection. The first one [green textured] one is the main board, and the second is the power board to your TV. If power board should overheat, there must be some fault with the main board I thinks.If I have to give you more details, I've to send you its repair diagram. HrlloThe power supply board of your TV is faulty. It canbe either the fault of a protection fuse, of switching regulator components. We can't predict, which will be faulty, becuse, the set has damaged during a power surge. If you have knoledge in electronics, and some experience in service electronic equipments, you can do it yoursef at home. Some power supply board faults are repairable, by replacing the defective components on it. But, to detect the defective component you must have its schemaic diagram [Service Manual] with you. Witheout it, you can't get what exactly had happend to the board. I've the service manual for your set, but I can't, send it to you without prior permission from Fixya. Get the video processing board replaced. That means the board is going bad.

There is a switch behind and under the screen on the lower right side of the set.
Just slip your hand on the right side, behind the screen in the lower end and you will find it. Switch the button on.

connect the audio out of the tv to any input of your surround reciever. ou can use optical out from tv or analog out. then select that input on the reciever. you can go into tv menue and turn off the speakers in the tv. Recommended.

The inverter cable needs to be checked. You either need to reseat that or replace. It won't cost you much but I highly recommend that you have this worked on by a local certified technician so we don't mess things out.
