How do I connect KLIK2 to a linear with a learn button

Has your KLIK2U worked for your garage door opener before, or are you configuring it for the first time?

If it is being installed for4 the first time, are you certain you garage door opener was manufactured after 1993 & uses a photo-eye sensor? If not, the KLIK2U may not be compatible.

If the mechanism or motor that lifts the door says martin on it, then no. That opener is made by marantec. This is not compatible with the typical universal keyless systems. Marantec will have a product that is compatible. Another way is to buy and install a reciever kit and then the universal keyless will work.

Contact the manufacturer with your problem ON LINE. They might be able to help you.

I spoke to Overhead directly and they indicated that the HomeDepot Klick remote doesn't work with the older Overhead versions. They sold me a remote that worked for a cheaper price so I should have checked with them in the first place.
Now I'm happy after several days of frustration!

This sounds like the spring coil has come disconnected you can check this by trying to open the door manually if it is really heave then the springs arent doing there job.

If you follow the watch the video and follow the instructions on this site and still cannot get your opener to program then you have a bad logic board.

It's really easy to reprogram your unit:
Step 1. Hold down the (*) and the (#) keys until the keypad stops flashing.

Step 2. Determine your opener ID using the list below:

*1= linear garage door openers manufactured from 1997 to
present.

*2= Chamberlin, Sears, Craftsman, LiftMaster, Master
Mechanic and Do it garage door openers manufactured from
1997 to 2004 ( Orange learn Button)

*3= Same as *2 above, but manufactured from 2005 to present
with a (Purple learn Button)

*4= Same as *2 above, but manufactured from 1993 to 1996
with a (Green learn Button)

*5= Genie Intellicode and Overhead Door garage door openers
manufactured from 2005 to present (315 MHz).

*6= Same as *5 above but manufactured from 1995 to present
(390 MHz).

*7= Stanley garage door openers manufactured in 1998 to
present.

*9= Wayne Dalton garage door openers manufactured
in 1999 to present.

Programming: Enter the PIN that you want to use, remember
(4) digits only. then press #

Enter ID # from list above, for example 2 then #

Press and release the Learn button on your
garage door opener.

Enter your (4) digit PIN and press (0),
for Genie and Overhead door units press
(0) twice. To test and use wait for light to go out
on keypad, Enter you PIN and press (0).
Note: If opener doesn't function repeat programming.

We have a Chamberlain Whisper Drive Plus. The keyless entry stopped working, suddenly. I have changed the battery, not the problem. I cannot get it to work, and cannot get it to reprogram. The keypad lights up when buttons are pressed, but when I press "Enter" the whole keypad flashes for about 30 seconds and then just goes dark.

UNLESS THE KIK2U HAS A UNIVERSAL RECEIVER IT PROBABLY WON'T WORK WITH CHALLENGER - VERY FEW UNIVERSAL SYSTEMS DO.

GET A CHAMBERLAIN / LIFTMASTER / CRAFTSMAN UNIVERSAL SYSTEM THEY HAVE A RECEIVER AND REMOTE / KEYLESS THAT WILL WORK WITH THE VISOR SYSTEMS IN CARS AND IS VERY EASY TO USE AND RELIABLE.

The problem is that there are internal batteries which are malfunctioning. I am not quiet sure you will be able to fix it. Get an expert to see it.

Hi,

We need to reset the opener unit on the wall. Unplug the wall unit. Wait for atleast 2 min. Then plugin again. Try the remote. This could solve your problem.

If it is still not working, you need to re-program the remote control to the power head.
Use the following steps:
Press the "PROGRAM" button on the garage door motor head unit once. A light "PROGRAM STATUS" will tell you that you have done so. The light will be on for around a min. In this time press the button on your remote. The light will turn off. Try opening the door with the remote now. Repeat if required. If this does not work, you will need to contact the dealer.
